The revolution will be annoying

Some choice comments from Atrios comments section. This stuff plays really well with swing voters, I hear. Not for the feint of heart, you’ve been warned. The good news is that I am glad to see some liberals willing to arm themselves. The bad news is that it’s liberals who frequent Atrios’ comment section.

I don’t think the Dems realized that this IS war. Once you have given up your freedom, the only way to get it back is at the end of a gun.

Try a little of the following…. go on strike, use passive resistance, refuse to pay any of your bills, refuse to pay taxes, do not buy that new car, do not shop at WalMart, buy only union grown and picked produce, buy lots of guns and give them out to black and latino gangs along with maps of wealthy gated communities, look the other way when you see a group of swarthy middle eastern young men loading heavy lead-covered crates into a rented van, convert to a cult-like evangelical southern faith and wait for the rapture to come and end it all.

Sorry, but the american people are stupid and blind and driven by hatred and fear. They can have the fucking election, I’m buying a gun.

Fuck this country.

Fuck these people.

It’s time for anarchy and violent revolution to scourge the country, and the world, of The Human Stain.

I too am starting to believe that revolution is the only answer, but for our children, I devoutly hope not

(*)(*)

The unavoidably obvious explanation is that Americans are by-and-large morons. Simpleminded, uninformed and undereducated, intellectually lazy and proud in their ignorance to boot, self-important and self-righteous, arrogant and benighted idiots. They are a reflection of George W. Bush, and in him they saw themselves. That’s why they love him and trust him so. Their reality is the faith-based myth that America is blessed and always right and great and perfect and freedom is handed down by God and not manmade constitutional governments and cultures of tolerance and inquiry. The are certain that the “real” America is in the unpleasant, xenophobic, homophobic, red states in the middle, where everybody has a white picket fence in the brain and they don’t seem aware of their own squalor and the fact that they make ends meet only because the far more prosperous blue states continue to subsidize their light beer guzzling.

Anybody know the company that makes body bags for the military? I think their stock would be a good buy right now.

Dear Osama,

Please pick your targets from the list of states colored red on the election maps. Targeting blue states is pointless since they have no power to change anything.

Fuck you, Ohio. Fuck you fuck you fuck you. You stupid redneck mullet-haired fucking freaks, how could you vote for Bush?

I like that last comment the best. I hope it gets republished all over Ohio a few weeks before the next Presidential election, and the one after that.

The death throws of a sad dying breed.

The fact that an American would want terrorists to kill other Americans should be clear these people have no business drawing breath let alone running the country.

for every liberal willing to fight, thier are others willing to die to protect their country

Isn’t he some sort of employee of George Soros? Can someone email me more precise information on the connection??

    Unc,

Definitely NOT something I should have read today…

The first ten comments that sprang to mind utilized a caliber or gauge, an expletive for sexual congress, and wound up with the phrase “and the horse you rode in on”…

What a bunch of whiny pansies. The only thing stopping me from being scared is that these imbeciles wouldn’t know which end of a gun to point at their opponents.

    And we do.

We Americans may be simple minded, as the Constitution and the Bill of Rights are pretty staight forward and easily understood. Freedom and liberty don’t require a nuanced intellect to be desireably. As to uneducated, perhaps unindocrinated would be a better discription.

My father in law drives a lawnmower for Hamilton County, has a “Fear This” license plate, owns a gun and knows how to use it, and drinks Bud Light. He’s a quiet guy, loves the Vols, patrolled the streets of Chattanooga to calm down the riots when he was a 20 year old kid in the National Guard, and goes to Myrtle Beach for a few days in the summer if he has the money.

My mother in law got laid off 6 months ago after working for 20 years for the same company as a payroll clerk, and only just recently was able to find a temp job for half the pay. She’s a great lady, with a big mouth and a big heart, who loves nothing more than staying up late drinking beer with her neighbors in their cul-de-sac townhome development way way out in the Chicago suburbs. Her husband is a big guy who loves the Bears and has the Ditka moustache to prove it, has a shrine to Walter Payton and Michael Jordan in the basement rec room, works two jobs doing maintenence for two different parks departments, and was a Huey door-gunner in Vietnam.

All of them voted for Nader in 2000, and Kerry this year.

My mom was born in the Soviet Union, spent the war in a camp in Germany, moved to Hawkins County when she was a teenager, chopped tobacco and wrung chickens’ necks on the farm, went to nursing school on a scholarship, went door to door in LA registering black people to vote, and thinks Nixon got a raw deal in Watergate — “he didn’t do anything that that damn Kennedy didn’t do”.

She never voted for a Democrat in her life, but she voted for Kerry.

The Democratic Party needs to tell Atrios and the idiots who post comments on his site to fuck off, and hire my mom and my wife’s family as consultants if they ever want to be the majority party again.

I do believe in the revolution. We must not just type, we must join together and actually do something about changing our country or we may be swallowed by the Christian crazies who see their way as the only way. Please, talk to each other, and join together before our children are persecuted for not being the norm.

Don’t smear capital L liberals with Atrios brush. I just posted that he should rename the site “Little Blue Footballs.” He’s been content free for months now (so has Oliver Willis). Kos, Political Animal and SKB are still fine.

I’m looking for a well trafficed, moderate conservative blog that allows comments (I refuse to patronize blogs that don’t). I’m still proud to label myself a “progressive,” but I don’t want to be stuck in an echo chamber all of the time.

    Any recommnedations?

  11. SayUncle Says:

For recommends, depends on your def of conservative. I tend to frequent conservative libertarians. I would recommend damnum absque injuria (xrlq.com), spoons, north georgia dogma, and others.

Just check out the wingnuttery section of the blogroll and the lawyer section there to your right.

    Thanks for the recommends.

Are there any liberal libertarian blogs that you are aware of?

  13. SayUncle Says:

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
