NRA opposes the bump fire law
They still support the ban likely because it’s just not a good political hill to die on. But they are right to oppose the current atrocious version of the bill.

No one’s dying on any hill. Not on our side.
We’ve had the antis on the run now for years, for good reason. We call the shots because we understand the principles which the leftists want to undermine.
We keep bump stocks, steer the conversation away from irrelevant cosmetic and mechanical details, AND get silencers off of the NFA.
Let the failing Progressive Marxists shriek and moan to one another. Let them cry a whole river of crocodile tears, while we remain serious about the liberty of future generations. Let them squirm while we stay focused and never give in.
Starve the sharks. Stop feeding them chum.
Only the Democrats and their RINO appeasers need politically die on any hills.

As proposed I have this dilemma. I have two ARs with Timney short reset triggers. They help me shoot faster in 3-gun competition. One was ordered with such from LMT. The other is my “backup” gun for 3-gun and is a cheapy I picked up for 5 bills at Academy and then tinkered.
So I have an “aftermarket accessory” that potentially (depending on which bureaucrat interprets the law) increases the rate of fire of my rifle and is thus illegal, except one isn’t aftermarket and isn’t an accessory! And if I pull them both you can’t tell which is “factory” and which is after-market.
Hmmmm.
