Review: The Colt Cobra Revolver

  1. JTC Says:

In the 90’s a local cop traded me a near
mint Colt Cobra for a used Glock. At that time plastics were the rage and wheelies were for Fudds…like me I guess, because that silky feel, the blue, the stocks, I love that stuff. Then a number check revealed it was a 1954, same year as me, and we were inseparable. When I quit the business in ’03 and again in ’16 I sold off hundreds of guns including some pretty nice old Smifs that I liked but knew I personally would never carry, but that little lightweight Colt wasn’t going anywhere.

It’s been my occasional carry ever since; it’s a little more bulky but weighs about the same (15 oz I think?) as the little autos and less including 6 rounds instead of ten or twelve.

I wouldn’t trade it for two of these new heavy stainless and rubber models. They’re nice, I’ve handled one, but the only thing they have in common with the original is the name.

I want one very much but none in the wild near me.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
