Reason: What Will Gun Controllers Do When Americans Ignore an Assault Weapons Ban?
The way I’ve had this conversation goes like this:
Gun Control Loon: We’re going to take your assault weapons.
Me: No, you’re not. Your move.

I would go one step further and point out that, after the first felony, the rest are free. There are many gun owners who do not own machine guns because they are illegal, not because they don’t know how to make them.

Nutbag troll in the comments was saying it would be made to work by … reintroducing Corruption of Blood and reversing the burden of proof.
(Seriously “prove you don’t have them” and “your FAMILY won’t be able to have a bank account or jobs or health care until you do”.
Thus I assume troll, because even sincere nutbags aren’t that nutbaggy.)
So, basically, a fascist police state – but at least you’ll confiscate most of the scary guns, right?

Just point worth remembering: It would be Federal agents, not local lawmen (layperson). Many local cops who have rifles in their car bought them themselves, so they are just as against weapons bans as anyone else. And before someone says law enforcement would be exempt, they aren’t under Mew York’s SAFE Act.

Well then Mike V, if the chief law enforcement officer of the respective counties (the sheriff) won’t stop law breaking out of state property thieves from taking your guns what are you going to do?

Those cops’ pensions are way, way more important to them than your rights. There is no way they are going to give up their livelihoods so that you or I can keep our rights.

Actually, yes, the police are exempted from the NY SAFE Act. They weren’t originally, but that was fixed afterwards, I believe with an interpretation that it didn’t apply to the police.

@dandydon, right! According to the 9th and 10th Amendments, additional and expanded rights in the States supercede the Federal Government. The only power re: the militia which as been delegated to the Federal Government is for those EMPLOYED in its service. (Article I , Section 8.15-6, U.S. Constitution) the Federal Government may LAWFULLY do NOTHING without delegated powers from the States according to the 10th Amendment.

@divemedic, probably not by those who want to disarm us. They have already trampled the 5th Amendment “due process of law” even voting against a compromise bill to protect that for citizens. Today’s so called liberals have morphed into reactionary, authoritarian fascists who will prefer Islamic jihadists over our rights.
