All Executive Order All The Time

Sebastian:

People are being deceived into believing theres been substantive reform on background checks. That can only serve to dampen enthusiasm among the general public for further measures, Didnt Obama fix this problem? It was all over the papers.

It’s amazing to me how many people don’t understand what happened at all.

AP fact check: Obama gun-control actions wouldnt have stopped any mass shooting

Who would be required to get a license? No one knows. But you may need one if you sell one gun.

The problem with the social security provision of the executive order: Should any Social Security beneficiary who has designated a personal representative be considered adjudicated as a mental defective?

The Social Security thing shows the true colors of the Statists.
    Make the weak – helpless
    and
    make the needy – dependent

The social security issue goes even deeper than that, because what he’s saying is that they’re going to put those records directly into the NICS system.

There’s no court adjudicating these folks as mentally defective, no due process, nothing. Yet Obama wants all those records dumped into the system to deny sales.

And I can’t for the life of me see how the fact that someone has designated a personal representative to handle their SSA affairs automatically means they are “mentally defective”

I actually listened to Obama present his proposals, live. What he did was despicably dishonest demagoguery of the worst kind.

His entire speech was organized to present law-abiding owners of legal guns as the moral equivalent (or perhaps immoral equivalent) of violent criminals and psychotic mass murderers. Heck, he even said Congress was holding America “hostage” on guns.

I believe that this demonization of gun ownership is the actual purpose of his initiatives, not to worry about the laws but to reorient the public perception of gun ownership to match Joan Peterson’s blind idiocy, Chuck Schumer’s totalitarian impulses, and Hillary Clinton’s elitist disdain. Obama wants gun owners to be the new smokers, the new racists, the new “Other” to be demonized, ridiculed, isolated, dismissed and controlled.

He is, and always has been, a demagogue.

Wadda? Wanna get real? You don’t get Social Security disability unless you work real hard to convince Social Security that you are disabled. You are your own “prosecutor”. If you really are mentally disabled, then we should be able to question whether you should be allowed to have a gun. If you are not really mentally disabled, then get off the taxpayers’ dime, you welfare cheat.

  5. JTC Says:

On the contrary, we better damn well worry about the laws, or more exactly, the altering of them. It’s not the “executive orders” but this underhanded manipulation that should concern us:

That sniveling little fa**ot is brighter and more deceptive (or at least his handlers like veejay are) than we give him credit for.

The problem with SSA’s broad brush approach is that mental illness is as varied in type and severity as cancer. A suspect mole on the skin isn’t treated the same as stage IV cancer yet a person with long term depression who deals with it responsibly but needs help with financials when things are tough is going to be treated the same as a severe schizophrenic who refuses meds or help and has a history of violence.

As with all gun control this is them dipping their toe in the water. By the numbers one in four adults in the US experience mental illness in any given year (temporary or long term) and they’re actively pushing to deny people doctor/patient privilege to find out who those people are. Did you need some medication for a bit to help after the death of a loved one? Now you have the stigma and even that single time will be used to put you on a list.

Since you need a license to buy at wholesale, it is difficult to argue that someone is “in the business” without it. Buying something at market value and then selling it at market value is generally not a good business model.

Talk about demagoguery, not only as you correctly point out is the new line of attack designed to ostracize and demonize, but in his NYT op-ed he attempts to turn the Constitution on its head, equating the incremental societal changes in equal rights related things like suffrage, racial equality, and deviant sexuality, to the effort to deny the specific rights guaranteed by 2A. Truth, logic, and reality are all alien and irrelevant concepts to demagogues, liars, and libs (but I repeat myself).

You know, it is possible to be on Social Security for a mental disability while not being a danger to yourself or others, and able to appropriately use firearms.

In fact, they have a whole category just for people who are unable to manage their own finances due to mental issues, but are otherwise competent and self-sufficient.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
