“journalism”

I often wonder if I’ve lost my sense of reality because of what is “news”.

Hands up don’t shoot did not happen.

The UVA rape incident did not happen.

Trayvon Martin was not shot in cold blood by a racist white guy.

Indiana’s RFRA doesn’t allow discrimination. It’s a silly law but it doesn’t do that.

The story of the pizza joint not catering gay weddings was bullshit.

There’s a nuclear deal with Iran, except it’s unenforceable and not written down.

Yet, these are prominent narratives among the media and pundits.

Yes, well it is axiomatic that when your whole belief system is based on false premises and fanciful wishes based on false premises, you’re going to run afoul of reality, pretty hard at times. You’ll then be forced to either double down on the stupid or repent. Among other things preventing a mass repentance, there are now trillions of both confiscated and counterfeited dollars each year to be had. Without the constant stream of cash, your supporters turn on you. So double down it is. And then double down again. They’re sort of trapped at this point. Cut ‘em some slack. Help to show them the way out of this deadly mess.

The Gell-Mann Effect. I used to believe it was due to incompetence. It is clear now that it is a purposeful attempt to deceive.

It’s probably safe to assume that before the New Media existed “the news” was accepted as fact by 99.9% of the population.

It is likely that most of humanity’s oral and recorded history is total bullshit.

I say this as a someone who holds a degree in History. And before the “STEM” types get all uppity, AGW, the Big Bang Theory and that whole Information Paradox thingy is smelling like bullshit too. 35 years ago Scientists where saying we needed to cover the poles in soot to promote heating there to melt the ice.

Don’t forget Brian Williams. And the non-exploding exploding gas tanks. It’s good to keep these lists.

It isn’t journalism. It is entertainment disguised as journalism. Plain old journalism is boring, so you spice it up, spin the stories, and create controversy where there is none.

Add in narcissists like Brian Williams and you have a pile of garbage that people eat up as fact.

There is no “news” anymore, not in what was once the mainstream media. It’s indoctrination and sensationalism.

Everyone discriminates, it’s just about what and from what perspective. I mean now we got discrimination against those who discriminate against being forced to approve of same-sex relationships. And here in Tennessee, the government supports businesses who put up signs against serving the minority of citizens who choose to exercise their right to armed self defense–and that even though we do it with a State approved permit!!

  7. JTC Says:

The pizza joint story was bullshit, but the response is only too real.

Why are progs so violent? Because “journalism”.

I tossed a few bucks in the tip jar there, maybe others will want to do the same.

Hell and hand baskets come to mind.

Keep your powder dry, it is going to get bumpy soon.

  9. Gmac Says:

News stopped being news and became narrative back in the 60’s with Walter Cronkite lying about the Tet offensive. They herd the LIV’s wherever they want them to go with it now.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
