Official: Glock 42 .380 single stack

The gat’s out of the bag.

Well, as official as anything I’ve seen:

Now, what’s G40 and G41?

  1. Mike Says:

Way too big to interest me.

It might appeal to people who just can’t handle a full-sized gun or a full-sized cartridge. For those folks, the size would be just right. The other big .380s that come to mind are more complicated to use (DA/SA transitions, external safeties and so on) so maybe they have a niche here after all.

  2. Jailer Says:

Several smaller 380’s out there to choose from to make this a viable option. Now make that same gun in a single stack 9mm and I’ll be the first in line for one.

  3. Brandon Says:

I agree with making a small 9 to I love my g19 gen 4 but ill prob b giving this little g42 a try 2

  4. KevinC Says:

    Glock 40 is a long-slide .45, kind of a .45 version of 34.

Glock 40 is specialty gun designed to be shot into your own leg.

  5. jim Says:

Single stack .380? Really? No thanks. What a letdown for sure.

  6. Nick Says:

So it’s a single stack locally produced G28, half interesting but it’s hardly the answer to life, the universe and everything.

  7. Weer'd Beard Says:

I’ll stick with my Kahr PM45 for a small pocket gun. Its a bit bigger, but that includes the caliber.

Also Kahr makes 7 round mags for reloads. I wish they made 10s!

  8. Michael Says:

I’m pretty sure they are reserving the Glock 40 name for when they release their .22LR.

  9. SD3 Says:

Where’s the f**king glock carbine this planet needs? Guess how many police departments, security contractors, and 3-gun competitors would get in line to buy a Glock 9mm carbine?

They’d sell millions of those things.

  10. Jailer Says:

SD3 I agree but also make it a 45. There isn’t shit out there for a reliable running 45 ACP carbine.

  11. Dandapani Says:

Who’s been asking for a single stack 380? WTF? We’ve been screaming for a ss 9mm!

  12. WhittyMike Says:

@SD3 – Glock would sell a lot of 9mm carbines that accepted double-stack magazines for Glock 9mm pistols (I’d buy it even if it didn’t take the G26 magazine, even though I plan to buy a G26, as long as it took my G17 mags). In the meantime, check out the Kel-Tec Sub2000, which comes in several versions, one of which accepts the Glock 9mm magazines.

  13. B Dubya Says:

Remington R-51. 9mm single stack. Going to market now.
    MSRP $389.

    You’re welcome.

  14. DonM Says:

If you want a glock carbine in 9mm, 10mm or .45ACP, you buy the appropriate Glock and MechTech uppper.

Of course is you want a proper carbine, get a M-1 Carbine that has a more potent round than the 9mm and weighs less than the .45-

If you are interested in a good carbine with an emergency backup pistol, then I like the 10mm version.

  15. Larry Says:

I’m more interested in seeing/handling/shooting the Remington R51 when it becomes available.

  16. Roger Says:

I have arthritis and find a semi very painful/difficult to cock. Is there a solution to folks like me?

  17. Pittsburghstealer Says:

I own the g21 and love it as well as the g17. I can’t wait to get my hands on the g42. Been wondering what took glock so long. Ppl who say it’s not powerful.. Get real.. Any points any gun at you.. If you have any sense your gonna run. A 380 in your pocket is better than your 45 on your nightstand. More times than not I’m sliding my p3at in my back pocket and my 45s either in my car or at home

  18. cabbynate Says:

Roger. You can use the rear sight. Catch it on your belt and push down. Thy teach it is tactical training schools. One hand slide racking.

  19. G21 and g30 Says:

Had a G42 in my hands today!!! What an awesome little weapon. Will own one in the near future.

  20. Allison Wunderland Says:

Best .380 I ever owned was a Colt Mustang. Basically a “Honey I shrunk the 1911.”

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
