You’re sub-human

Jim Carrey: Any1 who would run out to buy an assault rifle after the Newtown massacre has very little left in their body or soul worth protecting.

My assault rifles have killed less children than your ex-girlfriend’s anti-vaccination advocacy.

Not to Godwin myself, but dehumanizing people you disagree with is the first step to a very dark place…

  2. stavros, who is bloody well NOT a republican Says:

Right, right, you’re bloody well right, you’ve got a bloody right to say ….

speaking as someone whose bleeping ex-girlfriend held such views ….

“Any who would run out to buy an assault rifle….”

They’ve been illegal since the 30s.. so I’m going with “would have to be a time traveler”.

Yeah; I guess a few people do the class three license thing but I don’t know anyone that has. I know I’ll never bother.

Let’s see… looking at CDC stats on something as simple as flu vaccinations we get more deaths from the vaccine than from the flu. Yeah, good argument. Check the CDC website.

  5. Dave Says:

Keninorcal: perhaps the death rate from the flu is low because of the vaccine. The number to consider is the number of people who would have died had the vaccine not been available.

  6. Rob Crawford Says:

The vaccine, in most cases, prevents or greatly reduces the severity of the flu, which means the inversion in numbers of deaths isn’t unexpected. Without the vaccine, there would be orders of magnitude more deaths from flu.

    Keninnorcal,

She’s talking about childhood vaccinations. The immunizations babies are supposed to start getting from birth. You know, for chickenpox, polio, measles, mumps, etc. Not the annual flu shot.

Yeah, good miss. Check the CDC website.

  8. David Pittelli Says:

    keninnorcal,
Please provide a link to the site where the CDC says that “we get more deaths from the vaccine than from the flu.” Because I’ve looked around, and I call BS on your claim. The CDC estimates annual flu deaths in the tens of thousands. And I’m pretty sure that vaccine-related deaths are at least 2 orders of magnitude (100-fold) less. If you look at just the very bad (for vaccinations) year 1976 and the Swine Flu you would be correct, as the Swine Flu resulted in only 1 reported death in the U.S., but even then the vaccine killed only 25 people, so perhaps that’s what your source is based on.

“Let’s see… looking at CDC stats on something as simple as flu vaccinations we get more deaths from the vaccine than from the flu.”

Bullshit. Globally, there are no recorded cases of the flue vaccine causing death, while the flu kills anywhere from a quarter million to half a million each year.

The CDC says one study showed a possible link to GBS, and that study claimed the vaccine could cause it once per million cases; GBS is severe but not life threatening. Other issues with the vaccine are treatable allergic reactions. Source: http://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/qa/flushot.htm#whatare

    Bingo.

  11. TMLutas Says:

Bad policies have a body count attached. Too few people know what those body counts are and who is responsible for the dead. To spread that news is perfectly within our technical capability.

    We don’t do it.

There is no comprehensive list. Nobody is doing the grunt work to assemble the data warehouse to provide the baseline for the analytic reports that are timely, automated, and individualized. I’m tired of it. It’s boring work to build the case to scale up the naming and shaming of all our policy knuckleheads. It is worth it. I’m starting.

Does sleeping with Jenny McCarthy imply you ever listened to 1 word she babbled?

When one needs guidance about the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, a Canadian high school drop out, which is what Jim Carrey is, is the most reliable source to provide it.

  14. Cloudbuster Says:

Today is the day I stopped watching Jim Carrey movies.

  15. Thomass Says:

It is easy enough to turn around. What type of sub human will use any tragedy to try to get the gun control they always wanted. Our personal rifles have not only killed no one; hardly any are used in crimes… It is the rare exception to the rule.. and the gun grabbers know this so they wait for a tragic exception. Anyway; I’m done with this clown too.

It wasn’t only his girlfriend, when he got laid for it he didn’t mind sprouting anti-vaccine nonsense by the bucket http://scienceblogs.com/insolence/2009/04/23/fire-marshall-bill-discusses-vaccines/

  17. B Dubya Says:

Jim Carrey, like many of his fellow “comedians”, rolls in such huge buckets of self loathing that it is only a matter of time before he suicides.

Here he projects, as would be expected.

Nothing on earth can fill the hole inside Jim Carrey.

  18. Dr. Kranky Says:

My rifles have killed fewer children than all your girlfriends’ abortionists.

  19. Billy Beck Says:

“Not to Godwin myself, but dehumanizing people you disagree with is the first step to a very dark place…”

A statement of fact is a lot more than “disagree[ment]”

    Stop being a post-modern fuckup.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
