Poll cat

So, according to the polls, Barack Obama is going to win the presidency. Well, it the election were held right now. So, this means the polls are biased if you’re a right wing pundit. I dunno. Romney’s just not run a very good campaign and, frankly, no one is excited about him. It’s still early and I wouldn’t call it for anyone now. Maybe the debates will decide it. We’ll see. But I plan on four more years of hope and same.

I think he’s run a better campaign than McCain. I think the problem is more that he’s just an uninspiring candidate. Even less so than McCain, who at least was half-crazy enough to make things interesting.

  2. Mike Says:

Only one poll that counts — the official poll on Nov. 6th. So, pay no heed to the b*llsh*t, get your ass to the election site, and vote.

    Simple.

  3. Dan Says:

The promise of “free shit” will win out over hard work and good morals every time in today’s society.

  4. Mike M. Says:

Then again, the polls had Carter beating Reagan. We know how THAT turned out.

  5. Michael Curtis Says:

Polls have always been left leaning

Carter vs Reagan = carter …..
    Gore vs bush = gore..
Obama was suppose to sweep the polls = he won by 3 points

    Don’t be such a defeatists

  6. bogie Says:

I was just thinking the same thing a little while ago – Mitt is running a very un-inspired campaign. I can easily see independants (of which I am one) and undecideds going for the current President.

  7. Linoge Says:

It’s going to be four more years of hope and same no matter which of them wins. The only variable is speed.

  8. Weer'd Beard Says:

I suspect the whole “Arab Spring” attacks might change a few minds….not that I want Romney to win.

Still I was out walking today, and I saw a TON of Scott Brown signs, almost always paired with a Ritch Tisei sign. Saw a bunch of Elizabeth Warren signs, pared near 100% with Obama signs.

Only one Romney sign. Granted we know him better than most….

  9. Michael Curtis Says:

I have to say, after reading some of these comments, some of you people need your damn guns taken away.

No seriously, you have an party stating that they want to bring back the AWB, need more taxes and more spending (btw “taxing the rich” is how California got a state income tax) and you are “undecieded” or “not excited”. When a party says as clear as day that they want your guns, all i read from your comment is…. I’m a fucking idiot for even considering the democrats.

I think you should vote for Obama, maybe when he drives us into an Argentinean collapse you “undecideds” will just become “unexisting”

  10. Dave Says:

You must be a rain rain cloud at parties.

  11. Michael Curtis Says:

Nah, I’m actually pretty much a fun loving guy. Of course, I actually predicted that all this liberal created housing crisis was going to happen exactly 8 years after it was put in place, so i had planned on the CRA/CSMA created collapse and profited nicely from the “undecided”

The one basic truth – There will always be useful idiots.

“I have to say, after reading some of these comments, some of you people need your damn guns taken away. ”

I can’t legally own a ton of them in the first place.

Two guesses on which one of the Presidential Candidates signed that law!

Romney actually has gun banning on his resume and bragged about it inside of 24 hours after Obama made his “AK-47s belong in the hands of soldiers” comment.

If you were talking about yourself, that makes sense.

Otherwise you need to wake the fuck up!

“But I plan on four more years of hope and same.”

Uncle, suicide is not a viable option here! Don’t give up yet.

  14. Brad Says:

Believe me, I am no fan of Romney. Far from it.

But I must disagree that Romney has run a terrible campaign. Now McCain ran a terrible campaign, outspent and out of gas. At worst one can say Romney has run a so-so campaign.

But if Obama is reelected, what does that say about our country? Things are bad and all indications are they are getting worse. And Obama still wins? Then just what would it take for him to lose?

Come on folks, don’t lose spirit so easily. The Democrats had their asses handed to them at the State and Federal level just two years ago. I still think Obama will lose in November.

  15. Cargosquid Says:

“Mitt is running an uninspired campaign.”

How freaking inspired do you have to be to NOT SUPPORT the disaster that is Obama?

    The American voters are idiots.

  16. mariner Says:

How do you know Romney has run a terrible campaign?

Have you been to any campaign rallies? Have you met the man? How much of his speaking have you actually heard?

How much are you basing your opinion of Romney’s campaign on what other people say about it?

  17. RC Says:

Way to repeat the Lame Stream Media narrative. Both Romney and Ryan seem to be getting plenty of folks to rallys, what’s “uninspiring” about that? Seriously all this Eeyorism is doing Obama’s job for him.

  18. HL Says:

It was foretold by the Mayans.

  19. comatus Says:

No. It was foretold by the Mayans, as quoted in the Book of Mormon. The dems don’t have a monopoly on dreams from their fathers.

  20. Drake Says:

Do not take counsel of your fears.

  21. Patrick Says:

You need to look at the models used to generate the “Obama +4” call. They are based on the turnout of the last election. So raw poll responses are skewed to the last electoral turnout. In 2008, this was genarlly accepted to be about +7 Democrat (meaning 7% more Dems voted than Republicans).

It’s not a bias, it’s the way pollsters have done it for about two decades. Pollsters acknowledge the current numbers are skewed too far to the left, but nobody knows how far. Some adjust, but it’s as much art as science. It would not take much right-shifting to put the election into Romney camp.

The ultimate poll is the election. Turnout will be monumentally important. One reason certain parties want this to look like a shoe-in for Obama is because it will turn down GOP voting.

    Don’t fall for it.

  22. NotClauswitz Says:

It’s not that I’m all *excited* about Romney or not, it’s that more and more a second Term of Obama-the-Destructor scares the absolute shit out of me, and I’m from California.

  23. Robert Says:

Plan for the worst, and hope for the best.

  24. Michael Curtis Says:

“Otherwise you need to wake the fuck up!”

Seriously dude, you need to get a better grasp of your governmental system. Here let me clue you in.

    1) This is far less about “what Romney wants” and what he can do as the press. Its about what he CAN do

    2) Even thought TECHNICALLY the pres has veto power, Veto power is actually driven by the party (i know I know you think the president makes those calls… well that’s because your an idiot) even if the president himself has the real veto power.

    3) LIBERTARIANS ARE NEVER GOING TO CONTROL THE REPUBLICAN PARTY

hold on ….. maybe I didn’t say that right

    let me try this again…….

LIBERTARIANS ARE NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER GOING TO CONTROL THE REPUBLICAN PARTY

Hope that clears it up for you

  25. Paul Says:

I hear Nevada is now in play, and Obama is even rushing to Wisconsin cause he is in trouble there.

So who knows… Regan was behind Carter till Jimmy brought out Amy in the debates.

  26. SayUncle Says:

So, Mr. Curtis, you’re telling me to vote for Romney because Obama sucks. But your party will never, ever respect my opinion? Thanks for confirming my opinion that voting is a waste of time.

  27. Kdawg Says:

I’ve talked to many people who are disenfranchised and not going to vote, or are voting for a third party candidate again. Well, Romney wasn’t my first choice either, but chew on this — there’s a very good possibility that several Supreme Court seats will be up for grabs this coming term.

If Obama is elected again who knows what liberal judges he will try to appoint, but I have no doubt that the Romney appointees will be at least a little more 2nd amendment friendly. So think about that when you’re sitting home on October 6, or voting for someone with no shot of winning.

  28. Kdawg Says:

Oops, I meant November 6.. but you get my point.

  29. judges Says:

Wait…??? Did you just bring up Supreme Court judges Obomba might be able to appoint…. seriously? Tell me who was the majority opinion author defending Obamacare appointed by? The Titanic already struck the iceburg… but hey… you wanna vote on which way the deck chairs should be organized… go for it. But don’t try telling me it should float my boat too.

  30. Kdawg Says:

Yes, I did bring it up. But don’t worry, if the likely scenario happens, and two liberal judges do get appointed you won’t have to worry about a republican majority in the Supreme Court, or any swing votes for a long long time.

  31. Michael Curtis Says:

    Sayuncle,

Take advice and give control are two very differnt things

But thanks for confirming that the libertarian mindset is not of cooperation and inclusion but rather of antiauthoitarian wills

And you wonder why no one listens

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
