Self defense findings

An analysis of self-defense incidents reported in the Armed Citizen column. Some interesting things, such as average number of shots fired (2) and less than one percent involved a reload.

So you are saying that one DOESN’T need a $1,500 Uber-Tricked Out Ar-based M4 Clone in Tactikool Dark Earth and Lasers? That Grandpa’s Smith K-Frame in .38 Special will work just fine?

    Mall Ninjas everywhere “Respectfully Disagree.”

“At this distances, even .22s and .25s are highly immediately lethal.”

Hu? If “this distance” wasn’t “inside the body”, this sounds oddly stated to me. And the given “Even mouseguns displayed a significant degree of immediate lethality (30% immediate one shot kills) when employed at close range.” suggests that the analyst’s idea of “highly immediately lethal” = “30%”. That’s not a high percentage in my mind.

It is what it is, a personal analysis of cherry picked reports ranging 10 to 15 years ago.

Why call out the killing of the lion with a decidedly un-lion like round (13 rounds of .32 from a wheel gun) but not the other 2 instances of defenders reloading?

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
