Remember those tasers mounted on guns

And how I said they should be separate from real guns? Well, now I think making them in common calibers is also a mistake:

Central Precinct Officer Dane Reister mistakenly fired four live rounds at Monroe from a less-lethal shotgun, striking him in the hip with five buckshot pellets.

I had some training with some Oregon LEOs. They weren’t loyal to our Second Amendment (and that’s being kind).

Obviously, they haven’t gotten any smarter at all.

Lemmee see, Chief Wiggum is apologizing for pointing a weapon at a fellow human being? Ummm, so why so did the Rose City cops point the shotgun at him in the first place?

Did the shootee have a knife and wave it at the cops? If so, why less than lethal?

If no knife, why shoot him?

So Portland is the whitest city over 1MM and actually getting whiter even given all the lefty diversity talk. It is understood that criminals stay on the east side of the river, and especially away from the high-income charter schools. This perp violated 2 rules and therefore gets literally shot in the ass with buckshot.

Oregon has great personal defense laws and I’ve never had an issue with the police while carrying. There are no knife laws that respect type, and the CHL is probably the broadest in the entire country.

I seem to remember reading that a lot of agencies have scatterguns that use a shorter beanbag round, and are modified so they won’t chamber a standard; if you’re going to have the same caliber for both types, seems like this mod would be a good idea.

I did a ride-out with local PD and, knowing some of the guys, we looked at some of their swag. Their less-lethal 12 gauge was the orangiest SOB I had ever seen. It was nice to see they had a dedicated less lethal 12. Also, shooting the baton gun that looked something like an M32 was fun as well.

IIRC, When Taser came up with these shells they also built a shotgun modified such that it could not lock the bolt up on any other 12 ga. shell. At the time, It looked like the only halfway safe way to use the things. The photo in the article is not one of those, and it sure looks like the Police department involved was just depending on a policy of “Orange gun gets less-lethal ammo only” Instead of using something that couldn’t use regular ammo. Multiple, Major screw-ups here. They’re lucky to have someone alive to apologize to.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
