Bacon wrapped bullets

A gun oil that contains 13% liquefied pig fat. Because, apparently, Jihadis don’t like that.

Nice idea. Kinda wish there was a little pig on the packaging.

British had similar problems in the Indian colonies with cartridges waterproofed with lard of various sorts. Apparently offending just about every sepoy of any religion due to the fat coming from both pigs and cows.

Nylarthotep, actually that is sort of a myth. A rumor traveled among the native Indian troops in India in the 19th Century that animal fat was used on the cartridges issued by the British. (Remember that paper cartridges for muzzleloaders were torn open by a soldier’s teeth) And this in part fed the Sepoy Mutiny, but in fact there wasn’t animal fat in the bullet lube.

Tom Clancy had someone put a pigskin football into the hands of a dying jihadi at the site of his terrorist attack, for similar effect of destroying the dying muslim’s self-image. Interesting idea, although I suspect some imam would immediately issue a fatwa saying there was no sin if the pork was not ingested intentionally by the “faithful” murderous muslim.

YEEEEHAW!!!! ‘Bout damn time someone did this! Now let’s take it to ’em!

SPQR, you should read Kim Wagner’s book on the subject. Some areas of India did indeed use animal fat tallow for cartridges. It just wasn’t done where it would cause an issue with the local religious observances, such as at Dum Dum.

I wonder if it smells as you shoot it…

  8. Lyle Says:

Animal fat is a traditional bullet lube ingredient that goes way back.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
