    I see that there are 5 Republitards who voted against the Bill. Time for some RINO Infestation Removal next election, Arizona!

  2. Kevin Baker Says:

    Don’t count your chickens, etc. Brewer still has to sign it or let it come into force by doing nothing. It’s possible she could veto it. (Doubtful, but possible.)

  3. TXGunGeek Says:

    Unfortunately, this bill excludes buildings. So, it allows carry in the parking lot and on the sidewalks but you still cannot carry into any buildings on campus.

  4. Bryan S. Says:

    “The Arizona House gave final approval to a measure that will allow guns on college campuses, although it doesn’t go so far as to allow them inside buildings or classrooms.

    Senate Bill 1467 passed 33-24, with several Republicans and all present Democrats voting against the measure. The final version of the bill requires state community colleges and universities to allow both concealed and openly carried weapons in their public rights of way, which would likely include public roads and adjacent sidewalks.

    The original version would have allowed guns everywhere on college campuses, including in classrooms. Bill sponsor Sen. Ron Gould, R-Lake Havasu City, said he narrowed the scope to assure the bill’s passage.”

    So they just allowed carry on public streets near colleges, not where it counts.

    @Bryan
    It’s a step at least, consider that if I were to walk on one side of the street while concealed carrying in Austin, TX I would be breaking the law, but if I were to walk on the other side of the street I would be legal, that sort of situation is removed by this law.

    @D2K

    You’re wrong. You can walk on the grounds of a college campus in Texas with a concealed weapon. You just can’t enter any building, which is what we’re trying to get passed this year.

    I’d be perfectly legal roaming the whole UT campus in Austin with a 1911 concealed on my hip. As long as I didn’t need to step inside for a drink of water or to relieve myself.

  7. D2k Says:

    Ok, looked it up, you’re right apparently “premises” was defined as buildings not including grounds, sidewalks and streets.
    Good to know.

  8. Stephen Says:

    Happy to help. Trust me, I studied those laws extensively when I was in school. Lived on campus, so I had to keep my AK in the trunk of my car and the pistol in the center console. Glad those days are behind me.

  9. TXGunGeek Says:

    You should try working on campus! I can carry to work then have to lock the gun up before going in. Then mount up to go to lunch and lock up again when returning. Then mount up again after work for the errands and such then the drive home.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
