They aren’t questions, because there isn’t a single question mark. They are statements, with which you either agree or disagree, thereby determining your score. I don’t see how that is ‘loaded’.

I am a proud member of the vast right-wing conspiracy.
Many of the questions resembled “push polling.” For instance the question re immigration made no distinction between legal and illegal immigration.
Since I do have some libertarian leanings, I actually anwered some of the questions the way a good liberal (“progressive?” child, please) would, which makes my 79 even more scary to the bed-wetters.

114/400, and it was totally a push poll. The way the statements were worded in many cases tend to oversimplify complex situations such as the war on terror, etc. For example, I’m in favor of shooting terrorists in the face overseas, but opposed to torture – the problem with the statements is they’re phrased in such a way that to be “against” torture you’re also apparently against war.

@Caleb – actually, the statements about civil liberties and military are separate and can be answered as such.
5. Military force is the most effective way to combat terrorism and make America safe.
8. We must do whatever is necessary to protect America from terrorism, even if it means restricting civil liberties or engaging in methods some might consider torture.
I don’t see “they’re phrased in such a way that to be “against” torture you’re also apparently against war.”

I just noticed they listed african americans and latinos. To me, you can not be african american unless you came from africa and moved here. Many blacks did not ever come from africa. There are black people from peurto rico, and mexico, and many south american countries that never came from africa. Should whites be called puritan americans? or British Americans?

73/400. Basically, I assumed the loaded statements were, in fact, loaded, and answered them appropriately: e.g. I read the “immigrant” statement as referring to illegal immigrants, and scored it appropriately, thus avoiding their trap.
The Mrs. scored 62/400.

121. It said “Very Conservative”, but I believe the website to be rather biased (it is the “Center for American Progress” after all). I am actually a Libertarian, made slightly conservative by a Catholic upbringing. They tripped me up with that immigration question. Being in Commiefornia has made me associate the word “Immigration” with “those illegal immigrants who hang around hardware stores”.

This seems to me to be a pretty one dimensional quiz. Things like small government are more a Libertarian vs. Authoritarian thing than a Left vs. Right thing. Also was surprised at the lack of any second-amendment related questions.
