More guns

Less crime:

The introduction of the flintlock coincided with the largest decline in homicide in English history.

    Absolutely fascinating. Also note the abandonment of what we used to call “English Common Law Tradition” has led to a stagnant economy, high crime rates, poverty, laughably poor education, and general oppression of the once proud people of what was once the greatest nation on Earth.

    The flintlock was a huge improvement in technology. For the first time the average person could carry a firearm ready to fire.

    I say “the averaqge person” because;
    “The first firearm that could be carried loaded and primed was the flintlock…”
    Well, not so much. There was the wheel lock, but they were reportedly more expensive and fiddly to operate. This is really a story of how “Saturday Night Specials” i.e. affordable guns, save lives.

    Sort of reminds me of the fact that, before the summer of 1945, war deaths were increasing exponentially, worldwide, for many years. After that they went down and have been stable. What happened in the summer of 1945 that might have been so history-altering? The atomic bombings in Japan.

    So over a hundred years of banning guns (that really kicked off in the last fifty), the UK went from roughly 1/100k to roughly 10/100k. Yup violent crime went up 10 times per capita in the UK.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
