I’m pretty sure that was the intent

Seen at SIH on the one gun a month bill:

“As it stands now, retailers would be prohibited from purchasing guns from their suppliers,” said Burlington County Prosecutor Robert Bernardi, who leads the task force. “I think that was an oversight when the legislation was passed.”

The law exempts sales between licensed gun dealers, but not purchases from distributors or manufacturers, which are classified differently under New Jersey law.

And NJ politicos are now saying they weren’t aware of that. Even though they were told that. Didn’t read the bill or lying because they saw what happened to Corzine?

I’m in NJ at this exact moment. The state is a joke among the residents here, and many say that they feel trapped because of a 10% tax on the price of their home when they sell it.

Apparently the regulation, taxes, and corruption are worse than the jokes make them out to be. Depressing.

The NJ politicos were fully aware of it, no matter what they say and I’m certain that they dont care. Have they made any attempts to change or repeal that law? There’s your answer.

    The second, I assume.

That’s a feature not a bug. I highly doubt it was an oversight.

    Sun-Tzu.

Everyone has read the blasted book.

Markie Marxist sez: “Did we just happen to put every FFL in New Jersey out of business because they can’t buy more than one gun a month from their suppliers? Oops! We Marxists can be a little clumsy at times. We’ll have to get around to fixing that eventually, like uh, after all the FFL’s find another line of work that they can actually make a living at, or they starve to death. Unless, of course, the dealer can make a living by selling twelve guns a year. You see, sometimes we communists do give people a choice.”

Someone needs to look up the difference between a distributor and a retail dealer.

Do the rules say that retail dealer A has to pay full retail if he purchases several items from retail dealer B? Or makes multiple purchases in a month from out-of-state dealers C, D, E, F, and G (but not H & K)?

  8. Metulj Says:

So Corzine lost over guns? That’s a scream.

  9. Diomed Says:

homebru – The issue is that NJ dealers can only buy multiple guns from other dealers. *Licensed* dealers – as in licensed by the state of New Jersey. If those distributors don’t have the appropriate state licenses (and IIRC there’s so much BS involved in getting it that few if any outside the state have them) then they can’t legally get more than one gun per month from them.

Incompetence sufficiently advanced is indistinguishable from malice.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
