pseudo-correction

Tom points out that a story I linked to was not accurate. I would say it was my error except that, uh, it wasn’t.

Well, you (A) linked to it, and (B) smarmily criticized both the president and the media on the assumption that it was true, so I’d say that you DID make some unforced errors there. 😉

  2. Alcibiades Says:

I’ll just cry over my DVD set of AFI’s 25 greatest American movies. Thank god I live in a Region 1 country.

    Alcibiades:

See, now that, at least, is a legitimate point to snark about. Why latch onto the bullshit when there’s no shortage of actually true stuff to knock him for?

  4. SayUncle Says:

no one latched onto bullshit. i was unaware it was bullshit. little bit different.

  5. tgirsch Says:

I guess it depends on how one defines “latches.” You linked to it as if it were true, and ridiculed the president and the media as if it were true, expressed exactly zero skepticism about the veracity of it, but that doesn’t mean you bought it?

Denial ain’t just a river in Egypt, I guess.

  6. SayUncle Says:

So, you have never passed along a bit of misinformation that you thought was correct or even, gasp, reacted to it? I wish I was perfect like that.

  7. tgirsch Says:

Of course I have. I just haven’t tried to pretend that it wasn’t my mistake when I did so. Cowboy up and admit you got taken.

  8. SayUncle Says:

i’m not pretending. it wasn’t my error. period. if i make mistakes, i admit them. you can peruse the archives for that.

  9. Xrlq Says:

Tom’s right. It was Uncle’s error. And everyone else’s who takes that moron Gatewaypundit seriously. That said, Uncle’s original point was literally true; if Bush had done the exact same thing, the mass media would indeed have gone into the same idiotic tizzy that certain elements of the dextrosphere did. Cf. Maureen Dowd, turning Bush’s common sense observation that dead or imprisoned al-Qaeda members aren’t a threat anymore into the ludicrous position that al-Qaeda itself isn’t.

Ok, Uncle made a mistake by trusting the liberal media. He probably thought that despite their bias they had, at the least, included real facts, despite what spin was put on them.

Now two losers jump his ass for making, in good faith, the error of faith in the media, yet these two losers have repeatedly resorted to expressing positions that everyone knew were lies and used false reporting by the media as their justification for such even after the lies were exposed.

Uh huh. Oh yeah. Right. Sure.

I’m going with the two cretins rather than Uncle. Oh, ….wait a minute, I just gave myself away, didn’t I?

Funny don’t you think, how there were no WMD in Iraq, Al Qaeda never heard of Iraq or knew where it even was, etc. etc. ad nauseum, but now NOW, NOW, Uncle should know the media lies? (Check yellow cake shipments from Iraq to Canada, btw. Apologies not expected due to lack of honor among certain segments)

Uncle doesn’t even like me, but at least he plays fair, which is more than two cretins I know can do.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
