I’m still here

Just FYI, I’m still around and doing as well as I can as a single father. Not a lot of time to write when one is dealing with the details of death. It’s trying and my world is a bit upside down

Get yourself right. Those of us who care will still be here, and the ones who leave, there you go.

We’ll still be here. Take all the time you need.

  3. Miguel GFZ Says:

We will still be around.. don’t you worry none.
    Family first

I expect most of us love the free ice cream machine you’ve been running, but we care more about you than about it. Take care of yourself. If we can help, please let us know.

Fwiw, when I lost my wife it took a year to get past the grief and I dreamed about her regularly for about 3 years. Everyone else goes on but it’ll linger for you and the kids.

I had a kindergartener and a 3rd grader to raise. The 3rd grader just graduated from high school. It was chaotic sometimes but we made it. You can do it.

Reach out to friends if you need to, even in the quiet hours of the night. I work third shift weeknights and monitor Facebook closely, there’s an informal bunch of people who post regularly on FB in the wee hours that will be happy to chat with you.

    Yo.

I’ve been through it twice. First one after 33 years(heart). Second one after 17 ( aortic embolism).
You do not get over it. You love the kids and push on.

  9. Joe Says:

The sooner you can return, the more therapeutic it will be

  10. Michael Atkinson Says:

We’ll be here when you’re ready to come back. Take care of your family, and don’t forget to take care of yourself.

  11. Michael D Gale Says:

Like a message drop I’ll keep checking to see when you’re able to come back. Family first. They need you more than I do.
I miss you. Don’t think otherwise. But family first.

  12. Guy J. Sagi Says:

Take your time my friend. Your priorities are in the right place. If there’s anything I can do let me know and Michael’s right. Be sure to take care of yourself, too.

  13. Ravenwood Says:

Gotta take care of yourself and the family first! Nobody can (or would) fault you for that.

  14. Richard Hopkins Says:

Hang in there, brother – the kids can keep you anchored to here and now. I lost my 1st wife after 34 years, and my adult kids kept me from joining her. It does get better

  15. SPQR Says:

    Best wishes friend

  16. Derick Says:

    Hey Unc.

I’ve been in your shoes. It never really goes away, but it does get easier. When it starts getting tough, left foot, right foot, breathe, repeat.

  17. tkdkerry Says:

    What these guys said.
    Take care of yourself first.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
