   May God bless you and your family, as he is now blessing your late wife. I was told after I lost my first wife that “live so you can catch up with her on the other side” when your turn comes.

   I know, Unk.
   Lost my first wife to a sudden heart attack.
   After a few years I married again.
   Lost her to a burst aorta.
   We will be with them again.

   Live how she would want you to. And when it gets tough, yes, remember there are people you’ve never met that you have made an impression on and they do care about this.

   I’ve experienced the loss of a beloved wife, but I saw it coming for 5 years. The sudden shock like this is a different beast.

   And Skip…. there’s no words. I’d be afraid to go near anyone else after that.

   I can’t imagine what you’ve been through in the last week. May the Good Lord give you and your beautiful children strength. She lives in them.

   I am so terribly sorry for your loss. Take your time, particularly with the kids (personal experience when I was 13) and get whatever help you and them need.

    Been following you for years. Just saw this today; my wife and I just celebrated 13 on the 17th. You and your kids will be in our prayers. So very sorry for your loss, kind of jealous of your wife though…I miss my brothers and my little girl.

    I feel for you.

    Grief is different for everyone, and no one’s experience will be perfectly comparable to yours. But my wife and I lost our son about 13 months ago, and I can tell you this:

    Mercifully, I don’t remember much of those days and weeks immediately after his death. Shock, I think, keeps us from remembering those times too vividly, as a defense mechanism.

    But I remember playing soccer with him when he was little, and taking him fishing, and teaching him how to tie a necktie.

    You’ll remember the good times forever. And you and your children will be OK.

    I’m sending thoughts and prayers in this tragic time. I am so sorry for your loss. If there’s anything, anything I can do to help, please let me know. I know it hurt all of us to read this terrible news, but the pain is absolutely nothing compared to what you and your children are enduring. I’m confident any of us will help in any way we can.

    Prayers for you and your family. Lost my first wife of 15years to sudden heart problems. 2 weeks.
    Life is fleeting, take care and love your family knowing she would want you to go on with life.

    Don’t ever think that all of us out here aren’t there for you. We all have lost someone at some point in our lives and whatever you need we will be there for you. Hang tough for the kids my friend they will need you now more than ever. Our prayers go out to you.
