Journalism

ABC news ran video that was supposedly from the carnage in Syria. Turns out, the footage came from the Knob Creek machine gun shoot.

    Apart from the schadenfreude, this is fantastic for another reason: The anti-gun zealots like to ridicule people who suggest that the RKBA is intended to be a check on government power — their argument being that an armed populace couldn’t possibly stand up to the might of our government.

    If it’s this easy for a major news outlet to confuse Knob Creek with a warzone, then clearly the American public is far better armed than the anti-gun zealots would have us believe.

    This from the same people that laugh at the idea that We The People could stand up to the US military with the arms that we have.

  3. ExpatNJ Says:

    CNN did NOT “confuse” Knob Creek with a warzone, nor were they merely being lazy by grabbing the easiest-available footage.

    CNN deliberately used that footage to:
    – Confuse their viewers;
    – Agitate for military action by US against Turkiye
    (on which I take no position),
    – Impugn NFA items;
    – [your evaluation of CNN’s motives here].

    Hanlon’s razor says: “Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.”

    Unfortunately, CNN is already known to be malicious (especially towards peace, freedom, 2A, etc), and the network knows exactly what sort of game it is playing.

  4. Standard Mischief Says:

    The spectators and their phones were digitally removed.

    The video was darkened.

    This was no mistake. It was a fake propaganda news report. It was retracted with a tweet. The ctrl-left has sunk so low.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
