They can pretend to walk it back all they want. The fact is, they let it out, and we know how they feel. Besides; they’ve been saying similar things for decades. How many “blood on their hands” comments have we heard from the left, for example?
If you’re accusing the NRA of having “blood on their hands” or of pandering to the gun industry at the expense of the lives of children, et al, you might as well be accusing them of terrorism. You can’t walk back decades upon decades of such accusations. At best, you could apologize, and forever stop trying to erode the Bill of Rights. Better yet, take up the cause of liberty (not the fake kind, which is taking liberties with other people’s property and rights).
Leftists; your words are bad enough to condemn you, but your actions speak the loudest.

The concept is of course as old as he hills;
“Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.”

It looks like we check all those boxes, except for that last one (“for my sake”), which is the most important yet something of a mystery, and would in any case come down to the individual.
