Red flag form

So, NY has gone live with it’s form for taking someone’s guns away.

Anyone got Fredo’s home address? Pretty sure I can figure out where he works.

    😉

  2. Veeshir Says:

I especially like the part where you can red flag someone anonymously.
    That’s messed up.
Patrick, it’s NY, like DC, important people aren’t affected by laws.

  3. Dead J Says:

Phew, man, who’da thunk legalese could sound so horrifying. Anyone can erpo you without consequence, court can extend them indefinitely, and you only *might* get your guns back in the end based solely on other people’s (cop’s) feelings.

Pretty sure our Founders would be rioting by now…

  4. Ron w Says:

@Veashir, isn’t that a violation of the 4th Amendment, which requires an accuser have to swear out a warrant? Yes, I think it is. But then, if an illegal alien criminal were red flagged, THEN it would be a problem!

I don’t see any consequenes for false filing.
I also noticed that one of the possibilities for “behavior” justifying a red flag order is “recent acquisition of a firearm”.
This is familiar behavior of the enemies of the Constitution: just like saying that crazy people should not own guns and wanting a gun is evidence you’re crazy, now they are saying that buying a gun justifies a red flag order to take that gun away.

  6. Mike Says:

President Trump maintains a residence in NY, has an NYC Concealed Carry Permit, and has definitely shown some strange an unstable behavior.

  7. Kristophr Says:

So now we can anonymously red flag any NY social justice warrior who advocates violence on twitter.

    Nice.

  8. treefroggy Says:

You have to ” prove ” you own the guns to get them back ? ” You took them out of my gun safe ” .

How many people keep inventories let alone receipts , especially if it was a personal purchase .

NY is a slave state. That was supposedly ended in 1866 when the 13th and 14th Amendments overturned the 1857 SCOTUS Dred Scott decision which opined that if slaves became persons “they could go armed everywhere they went”.

“The possession of arms is the distinction between a freeman and a slave. He, who has nothing, and who himself belongs to another, must be defended by him, whose property he is, and needs no arms. But he, who thinks he is his own master, and has what he can call his own, ought to have arms to defend himself, and what he possesses; else he lives precariously, and at discretion.” –James Burgh, 1714-1775, English statesman (before England devolved into disarmed barbarism)

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
