On the NRA
Given that the purge is continuing, it has made one thing clear to me: The NRA is not its directors and members. The NRA is LaPierre.

I don’t get it. I can see how an executive can get rid of employees and contractors (like lawyers who work for the organization). But that doesn’t account for directors. At least not in any organization I have ever heard of that has directors. If directors are resigning, it is because they choose to, not because they were fired.

I’ve been a life member for over twenty years, and I’m not resigning my membership. But my money is going to GOA until things change.

GOA and SAF are getting my money for now. The Board, and I’m looking at you Marion Hammer, need to understand that sticking with Wayne is like staying on the Titanic and watching all the lifeboats leave.
I look for the membership of SAF and GOA to dramatically expand as disillusioned gun owners leave the NRA. I won’t resign my Life membership but I did join SAF.

Directors can – and are – “fired”, or involunaraily-removed from their positions, all the time. Sometimes, it happens because of a hostile takeover; sometimes because of a lawsuit. That happened to a bunch of decent folk:
“Hands Across New Jersey v Hands Across New Jersey”.

I left the NRA about 5 years ago. Since then most of my $$ have gone to Judicial Watch; total of several hundred per year. JW has been doing more for us, on a much broader front, than any single-issue organization.

There’s a couple more years on my membership. Unless LaPierre and Hammer leave, I’ll not renew and definitely will not make voluntary donations. I already belong to GOA, NAGR, and SAF, because I believe that protecting civil liberties to gun ownership against paranoid busybodies is the most important thing I need to do.

As long as W.L. is a part of the NRA, I will not answer the phone when they call me about 2 times a week to join them again. He has gone past his shelf life and needs to go.

Former anti-gun rights Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid, D, was quoted as saying, “The NRA is bad, really bad. But Gun Owners of America is worse than bad.” So I’m a member of GOA and, here in Tennessee, Tennessee Firearms Association. Both are excellent and Constitutionally, no compromise. They support, not only the 2nd Amendment, but ALL of the Bill of Rights in that the attack on gun rights now discriminatorily attacks the 4th and 5th Amendments of gun owners. Also, the Federal Government has NO delegated powers for gun laws pertaining to the People or the States, so the 10th Amendment makes ALL Federal gun laws illegal EXCEPT those who it EMPLOYS.
