Nifty

A device to convert your 5.56 PMags to take 9mm. I rather enjoyed my 9mm AR.

Is there really a market for a $30 device to turn a $10 magazine into a different $10 magazine?

9mm AR with proper bolt hold open without buying a new lower.

@Ravenwood: The short answer is a resounding yes.

When you want to run 9mm in an AR-15 cut with a standard STANAG magwell, and you don’t want to make any permanent modifications to the lower (i.e. no pinned magwell blocks), your choices are basically as follows:

    * ~$200 magwell blocks + mags that cost $25-40+ each (It doesn’t look like anyone is currently making a block for unmodified Uzi mags).

    * EndoMag + P-Mag at ~$35-40 each (depending on how good you are at finding deals on P-Mags, and/or whether or not you want windows).

I’ve messed with it on and off for a few years now, and these mags combined with CMMG’s rotary delayed blowback system are the best combination of parts I’ve tried yet. On top of the enhanced reliability and convenience (I no longer need to change buffers to run 9mm), these also allow me to use standard AR-15 mag pouches, which makes it practical to train with reloaded 9mm at less than 1/3 the cost of .223/5.56mm (which is currently running a hair under 30 cents per round).

While they’re not perfect, they’re significantly better than pretty much all of the other alternatives I’ve tried.

Also, as SaysUncle said, 9mm is MUCH more pleasant to shoot indoors.

This. Because 9mm has much lower requirements for safe backstop, you can shoot it many more places as well. I built mine specifically so I could shoot my AR offhand at pistol ranges instead of being stuck at a rifle bench.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
