I think this is accurate

The Kavanaugh stuff is about abortion:

Yes, there are politicians including Governor Cuomo that would be upset if their signature gun control laws were shot down by SCOTUS. However, the main difference between the issues is that abortion has a legitimate grassroots surrounding it and gun control does not.

Gun control is largely astroturf.

  1. Ron W Says:

I do remember it being reported that Chelsea Clinton was gleeful shortly after the mysterious demise of Justice Scalia, saying, “now we can get gun control”. It wasn’t suggested that her mother would give up her citizen-paid, armed security by full auto “assault weapons” that she, Bill and Chelsea had enjoyed since 1992. You know, so she could LEAD BY EXAMPLE and demonstrate that “guns don’t make us safe”.

  2. Chad C Mulligan Says:

Strongly disagree with that article. This is about the entire Leftist agenda. Gun control, censorship by social media giants, election fraud, IRS political activity, expansion of government controls on the economy, and-and-and. Their schemes of taking control through the courts will be stalled for a generation by Kavanaugh’s appointment, to be followed up by another conservative when Red Ruthie passes on or becomes disabled.

  3. Publius Says:

I don’t like it, and I don’t think it should be routine, but I don’t think it should be illegal either. And both sides can go soak their heads.

  4. Joe Says:

Society doesnt want to overturn Roe, and neither does the GOP. The dems would be begging for it to be overturned sot that they can have a rallying cry.

    Its about guns.

  5. Ron W Says:

It’s really ironic! Leftists support “a woman’s right to choose” to kill her unborn child for any reason up to and including partial-birth abortion. But they want to deny “a woman’s right to choose” if she chooses to keep and carry the means to protect her own body against the robber, the rapist and the murderer.

  6. Ron W Says:

    @Joe, You’re absolutely right!

ONLY YOUR ENEMY WANTS YOU DISARMED

“The possession of arms is the distinction between a freeman and a slave. He, who has nothing, and who himself belongs to another, must be defended by him, whose property he is, and needs no arms. But he, who thinks he is his own master, and has what he can call his own, ought to have arms to defend himself, and what he possesses; else he lives precariously, and at discretion.” –James Burgh, 1714-1775, English statesman (before England devolved into disarmed barbarism)

  7. Scott in AZ Says:

I think the much bigger fear is K’s position on guns, but screaming “guns” would backfire, so Roe v Wade is the talking point.

But overall it is about the total leftist agenda.

  8. Ron W Says:

So I’ve just watched a short impromptu interview with Sen Di Fi re: the Kavanaugh confirmation and she raises his support of precedent with the Heller ruling that “assault weapons” she wants to ban are “in common use”.

  9. JTC Says:

Chad at #2 and Scott at #7 have it right…

Yes it’s about abortion because they know there is some bipartisan support there and they need to turn a few from the other side.

And it’s about immigration because they desperately need those replacement voters so they won’t need any bipartisan support going forward.

But overwhelmingly it is about opposing and obstructing anything and everything Trump and Deplorable by any and every means they can.

  10. JTC Says:

And of course it’s about guns because they also know they will not be able to rule by fiat and force if there is armed resistance.

  11. Anon Says:

I used to be pro-life, but democrats have changed my mind. I’m now pro-abortion: I think ALL democrats should get abortions!
If the democrats behavior gets any worse, I may even support it being mandatory.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
