Yeah, that’s not good

Using Castille to hawk carry guard.

And my understanding of CarryGuard (which may be incorrect) is that it basically pays out upon acquittal, which seems to make it useless in case you need it.

Before this spring there were private non-lobbying entities providing insurance for legal defense. Then NRA stepped in; you can decide why they are doing this.

Here’s my post on Sebastian’s site:

The NRA is the big gorilla in the room; they currently have the most political pull in 2A issues. This is fine if it’s directed toward constitutional 2A issues.

But then I saw that USCCA ejected from the NRAAM this year. I think it was evident that they are looking into and maybe co-opting new markets already covered by voluntary private business.

I fear the NRA might be opening discussion for mandatory carry insurance or any firearm ownership insurance mandate. This is completely unacceptable.

You are correct about Carry Guard only paying on acquittal, just like USCCAs insurance, and most similar programs.
To the best of my knowledge, the Armed Citizens Legal Defense Network is the only source of money up front.

Any form of Insurance is a HUGE potential for scamming. Look at NRA’s previous attempt: Life-lock. That ID theft nonsense fails to demonstrate their “million dollar promise” has ever paid out.

I, too, have a suspicion that the “stalled” National Reciprocity Bill will soon get an “offer” by NRA to “rescue” it with Carry Guard or some similar schlock product.

Gun control by ANY name is still INFRINGEMENT.

…and if you dig REALLY deep, which major investors might you find behind Carry Guard?

    Buffett? Zuckerberg? Bloomberg?

  5. Old NFO Says:

Definitely something fishy… BIG TIME FISHY!

Given the data showing that most Americans can’t come up with $500 for an unexpected expense, this could be a problem. I would hope that gun owners would be better than this but that is probably a pipe dream. But what is the NRA or USCCA supposed to do. Pay out for someone that ends up being convicted?

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
