The Sig P320

Random thoughts on the new Army gun. Everything I’ve read about them from reputable people in the know has been positive. But I have yet to handle one. May head to the local shop and check one out. Or maybe I shouldn’t.

I’ve gone back to Ruger as of late. A new American in 9mm, and a P345. I wish I had tried the 345’s before now. I’d always ignored them in favor of 1911s.

Go check it out, you won’t regret it. Not necessarily to replace your M&P either, but for curiosity’s sake. It’s what the P250 should have been all along.

It won’t be “the best” pistol in any one category across the board, but it will be a good one overall for a long time.

One of us! One of us!

Seriously, though, it doesn’t do anything your M&Ps don’t, apart from the modular frame thingy. I do think they’ve got a better trigger out of the box than Glock or S&W, but that’s pretty subjective. It is the flavor of tupperware I’ve settled on though.

Well, you should come in well under a grand this time.

Get hooked up with the mil price and come in under a G for 3!

I have a 320 Compact 9mm. They are ugly, but have an amazing trigger. I have shot a few matches with it and it rings the steel just fine.

Definitely want to purchase eventually, but I’ll give it 12 months or so to see the ‘final version’. Also, it’s virtually guaranteed to have 50,000 new variations and options now that it’ll be an institutional firearm.

Got two. Three if you count Mrs. Drang’s, two sub-compacts and a compact I slapped into a “carry” size grip module.
Incredible trigger. Ernest Landgon says the trigger may be too good for a duty gun, but the Army went with the manual safety version, so the potential drawbacks (which is to say, GIs rarely get adequate training) of a great trigger are irrelevant.
Ability to swap calibers and sizes is pretty handy (see: “slapped into a ‘carry’ size grip module”…)

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
