More on ATF saying guns with fake sear holes are machine guns

Some more information from WeaponsMan. In the past, such markings were ruled OK. But the ATF has a history of making things up on a case by case basis. The agency really needs some consistency.

“The agency really needs some consistency.”

Yes they do, and being consistently non-existent would be the best kind of consistency in their case.

  2. Fred Says:

Exactly, beat me to it, they need to cease to exist.

It’s a bit like being married.

“Yesterday you said it was okay?!?!”

    “Yeah, well that was yesterday!”

I’m still fuzzy on how a short barrel shotgun with a pistol grip isn’t a short barrel shotgun with a pistol grip but a “firearm” instead.

  5. Lyle Says:

JFM; well it’s like how you know you’ve been talking to a crazy person. It’s when you begin to question the simple and obvious things you’ve always known.

In other words; it’s not you. It’s them. We have truly crazy people pretending to have authority over us. Don’t play along. Don’t engage. Don’t lend them credibility. If you’re attacked anyway, defend yourself.

You know, I have to wonder, is the ATF’s irrational and capricious approach to regulation unique among federal agencies, or is it the norm?

You want to be terrified? Consider the Norton that the FDA is conceivably just as incompetent as the ATF.

  7. Donny Anonny Says:

    *notion

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
