Sudden Jihad Syndrome with a touch of workplace violence

What we seem to know

It is amusing. Yesterday, I knew the shooter’s name at (checks facebook) about 6:15. It was listed on a couple of websites and the source was a local police scanner. Shortly after, the po po changed to a different channel. And I don’t think the press released the name for another few hours after that. Gosh, I wonder why?

Meanwhile, politicians were in a hurry to try to push through two stupid gun control bills, one banning gun possession for abortion protesters and one trying to sneak a ban on possession to those on the terror watch list, with a side of that BS Manchin Toomey bill, into the bill that would repeal portions of Obamacare.

I am sure Shootin’ Buddy will be along to tell us we have nothing to worry about, since these two weren’t ISIS, and they wouldn’t attack anything “low-profile” even if they were.

  2. JK Brown Says:

Yeah, the push to ban those unaccountably put on the no-fly or terror watch list seems to create strange bedfellows who are just all right for the government to decide when Due Process applies and when it doesn’t.

Sure, one has no due process right to challenge or even learn about being put on one the no-fly list. But this is due to the ruling that one does not have a right to fly in aircraft and to permit challenges would compromise intelligence sources and methods.

So after a few years of no-fly, many, even on the right like Jonah Goldberg, are a-okay with removing Due Process right challenges to denying actual enumerated rights.

So Hillary, et al, are actually pushing either the compromise of intelligence sources and methods when the denial of gun rights leads to due process challenges

    Or

They’ll just deny Due Process Rights for those denied their RKBA thus usurping the Constitution and the right first written in Magna Carta.

Of course, Hillary has a history of doing the former.

I would try to post a witty comment, but as such, I am out of country at the moment. Oh yeah, there’s the sunburn. But, I digress. If someone killed some one, or two, of our fellow citizens, they should have a really good reason. God is great is not one of them. WE know that. Why should WE need reminding?

  4. Jerry Says:

And yes, as the local Baptist, you should not leave me alone. I would take it on myself to drink up the beer. It might spoil.

Who makes the determinationand for what reasons are people put on the “terror watch list” ? Is this also the “no fly list”? Do they go by DHS list of who they deem to be the most likely “terrorists” such as military vets, gun owners, constitutionalists (anti-government), libertarians, pro- lifers, homeschoolers, anti-ILLEGAL immigration. Let’s see, did I leave any potential terrorists out? Well maybe some for which the Atty Gen may prosecute for inclusion.

  6. Jerry Says:

@ Ron, I have no idea. At the moment, I am under the influence of something I would not give to your children, much less, your tomato plants. (Film at 11:00) I would guess that pledging allegiance to some group of anti-socialist individuals might do it, but I don’t know. I don’t like socialists, or know many groups of them. All that being said, if I see some one trying to blow up(or down) the plane that I hope to come home on, I will break his/her neck with my bare hands. The LORD gave me two of them, at the end of each of my arms, which I shall bear as long as possible.

  7. MAJMike Says:

@ Ron and @ Jerry — My understanding is that the criteria for being placed on the No-Fly List is secret. There are no published standards and no information other than a name is used on the listing. Recently it was revealed that some 70+ member of DHS were on the No-Fly List. Even Ted Kennedy was on the list for a time. This indicates that anyone may be placed on the list for any reason, good or false, by any disgruntled bureaucrat with no due process or mechanism for appeal. The LibCong are okay with this because they control the bureaucratic levers of power.

This creeping Liberal Fascism now threatens all of us on the most basic level. We face enemies, both foreign and domestic.

From the Los Angeles Times: Feds are searching for Enrique Marquez, Jr., a friend of Terrorist Syed Farook who went missing on Wednesday – They believe he gave the guns to Farook.
I believe in that case he’s dead too and they killed him to cover their tracks.

MAJMike, what you describe is arbitrary government, unlawful rule by decree and secrecy. Interestingly, the old classical liberal Democrats opposed this:

“Certainly one of the chief guarantees of freedom under any government, no matter how popular and respected, is the right of the citizens to keep and bear arms. […] the right of the citizens to bear arms is just one guarantee against ARBITRARY GOVERNMENT and one more safeguard against a tyranny which now appears remote in America, but which historically has proved to be always possible.”
    –Hubert Humphrey, 1960

It’s not only possible, it’s here brought to us by so-called “liberals” who have morphed into leftist authoritarians, yea verily, fascists.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
