If the weather is warm

People in Chicago are killing each other. And the police chief says it’s due to lax gun laws. Uhm, you’re in Chicago. There are no lax laws.

  1. TS Says:

McCarthy said police have identified some gang rivalries at work in some of the most recent shootings, and were moving to intervene; but the superintendent said “lax state and federal gun laws” thwart the department’s efforts.

Ok, I really want to know. How exactly are state and federal gun laws preventing you from moving in on gang members identified in shootings. No, really, you’re going to have to explain this one.

  2. TigerStripe Says:

“At the end of the day, it’s like running on a hamster wheel, when we’re drinking from a fire hose seizing these guns, and people are coming right back out on the street,” he said. “They’re not learning that carrying a firearm is going to have a severe impact on what’s happening in their lives.”

So murder and aggravated assault convictions are not enough to keep these people off the streets but mandatory gun crime minimums will… hmm…

  3. KM Says:

Funny how guns only become bad when exposed to Chicago air.
All the other places that have these “lax” gun laws don’t have the Shitcago murder rate.

  4. Seerak Says:

But I thought Chicago’s murder rate was going down thanks to shall-issue?

(IOW, that story from last month was way premature.)

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
