And what about that war on men
Man buying books for his grandchildren kicked out of a bookstore because he was a lone man in the children’s department. Yup, on the word of a hysterical woman, he was kicked out.

Sound like a real witch hunt. I don’t know any man that takes more than a half-hour looking at a store shelf before they leave with a purchase.
And of course rather than simply watching him…they dropped the ban hammer.
Stupid move for a bookstore these days anyway. Even my buddy reads kids books to his little girl on his Tablet PC!

This is why, if I were to see a small child wandering around alone, I wouldn’t do a damn thing to help. I would probably be accused of kidnapping or something for my efforts.

Nothing stops you from informing the staff about the child. Truly I think people who want to help will find a way(w/o going on an anti-female rant in the comments section).

I’d rather live in a country where bookstores have the freedom to eject anyone to leave for any reason, rather than to live in a country with laws regulating such things.

@dustydog: How would you feel if the power company didn’t want to supply power to a business that was owned by a demographic that they didn’t like?
Like many pure philosophies, the idea is great, but in execution, it gets corrupted.
There was a time when businesses, neighborhoods, and governments conspired to deny some people’s basic needs, based only on their skin color.
When you open a business that serves the public, and you rely on the public to satisfy the needs of the business, you also accept the public’s conditions.

That means no books for the grand kids… at least if I go alone to B&N to get them.
