Making fun illegal

Minnesota governor thinks citizens are too stupid to handle dangerous fireworks.

It’s mostly an f-word felony in Crook County.

  2. cybrus Says:

Yep – you’re out of luck in PA. Vendors are allowed to sell the good stuff here but only to out-of-state folks. If you’re a PA resident, you’ll have to make do with the boring sparklers and childish ground-based stuff.

Considering who they elected governor, maybe he’s right?

Hey, “anon” @ 11:24…I have to live in this statist hole.

The triumvirate of Dayton, Muhammed X. Ellison, and Klobuchar is kind of amazing for the black-hole level concentration of pure stupidity.

I live in the district that sent Ellison to be a Congress-critter with a 70% majority. The rampant fraud that was evident at the polling place wasn’t even close to necessary for the Minnesnowta Democrats (here called “difflers”, for DFL – Democrat/Farm/Labor), but they did it anyway to get Franken and Dayton in.

Dayton is usually completely incoherent, except for the rare occasions when they get his various medications precariously balanced. Then he simply issues BS instead of un-connected, vague ramblings. They don’t let him get more than arms-reach from his handlers in case he starts talking near some kind of recording device.

I live in the city-center of the collectivist hive because it’s where my job is, and what I do is limited pretty much to the company I work for. We’ve sworn that when the job ends, so does our occupancy of this city, county and state.

Serves as a big red light that the Mommy&Daddy Statists would love to ban guns if they could.

Yes firearms have legitimate non-entertainment purposes, but do you think someone itching to keep a fireworks ban would really be okay with self defense?

“Minn.Governor thinks Citizens are too Stupid…”

Well, considering Minn. has Sen. Al Franken….

nk, it ain’t just Crook County. This whole damn state has outlawed pretty much everything. I think you can have snakes, but I wouldn’t swear to it. I hate it here.

IN realized several years ago it was pointless. Now you can buy anything here, you just have to promise to take it out of state to light it (nudge nudge, wink wink, say no more). The sky lights up on certain dates, and I live in a pretty affluent area, so it blows up real good. Funny, we don’t have just lots and lots of fires or injuries, though I’m sure there are a few. I was glad the immediate care place was open on the 4th; my stepson cut himself with scissors badly enough to require stitches.

  9. Sigivald Says:

Here in Oregon you can’t buy anything that flies or goes bang, basically (ie, anything remotely good).

    For our own good*.

Which means that everyone just buys them in Washington or on a Reservation and completely ignores the law.

    Pointless waste of time.

(* Actually, the best argument against them is not the “some idiot will blow his hand up” one – which is self-correcting – but the “some idiot will set MY HOUSE ON FIRE with them”, which is a little more compelling.

Especially after watching the concentrated fireworks action every July 4 in the park across the street, where it looks like a war-zone with the vast display of completely illegal fireworks that the police, despite a police station like a block away conspicuously ignore every year.

I think the law’s stupid, but they should at least pretend to enforce it**.

** Because if they enforce it, we might see some pressure to remove it. If they mostly ignore it, it becomes a Law Of Convenience, selectively enforced for other ends.)

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
