Layers of editorial oversight

Cop-killer bullets! Which, apparently, means rifle rounds. And this: the perp’s initial 12-bullet barrage from a 9mm revolver.

Where can I get one of those 12 round capacity revolvers?

This is the second cop killing bullet article in the Post in a couple of days.

I wonder how many shots te police tokk to get one hit?

  2. HL Says:

“Klaus is a moron who knows only what he reads in the New York Post.”

  3. Bubblehead Les Says:

I want one of those Sawed Off Assault Rifles, myself.

  4. mikee Says:

Hey, if the Post prints anything, it has to be sensational. A pigeon dropping a load on a statue in Central Park becomes “Aerial Assault Using Chemical Weapons on Cultural History!!!!”

I’m glad the cop killer bullets only wounded one of the officers involved in the last incident. That guy, who barricaded himself in his apartment and held his girlfriend and child captive for a while, sounded like a real winner of a human being.

  5. Bram Says:

Luckily he only used the cop-wounding bullets.

  6. Rick Says:

Can’t believe the writer couldn’t work “assault clips” into the article somewhere.

  7. Weer'd Beard Says:

“The more powerful bullets also would have gone through the officers’ vests, police said.

Ayala, 49 — who took bullets to his thigh and ankle even as he shielded his comrades and fired back”

Good on him for being a Hero, but last I checked they don’t wear Kevlar on the thighs and ankles…

  8. Kevin Baker Says:

Hey! My .357 Magnum revolver only holds eight rounds! I feel gypped! (No offense to gypsies intended.)

  9. TennGoodBoy Says:

    Sawed-off, too.
    Dont forget sawed-off.

  10. bruce Says:

Any one else note that at the start he he fired “12 rounds from a 9mm revolver, but at the end of the article it was “Fortunately for them all, Foxworth, 33, only managed to fire his semiautomatic before being badly wounded by return fire, authorities said.”?

  11. Mike Says:

    Dear New York Post,

The eighties called, and they want their anti-gun bullshit back.

  12. Sigivald Says:

I want to know what the “military assault weapon” that was “sawed off” was.

Because most of them don’t work very well when you cut them down, what with the gas system and all.

Plus who’d wreck a machinegun like that?

(What? It wasn’t really a “military assault weapon”?

I’d almost bet it wasn’t really “sawed off”, either.)

  13. Sigivald Says:

Oh, wait, I found a more sensible writeup: here.

Looks like a Mini-14, and I’d have lost that almost bet, because they’re saying it really was cut down.

And the 9mm “revolver” was a Browning.

And thus “armor piercing ammunition” is probably true – in that I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see he had SS109 bullets.

(That plain lead .223 would also penetrate most body armor and thus is makes little practical difference is something I can forgive a newsie for not realizing, this time.)

  14. Rob Crawford Says:

Wait. They said he had a Mini-14 that was “sawed-off” and “equipped with a sniper scope”.

Why? Why shorten the barrel, reducing the long-range accuracy, then put a scope on it?

How about “the thug was arrested with an array of weapons that exposed his idiocy”?

  15. Huck Says:

Uncle, I dont know about a 12 round revolver like the idiot newsie described but there is a 10 rounder. A Lemat Pistol. 9 rounds in the cylinder which revolves around a 16 gauge (.60) barrel.

  16. ctr Says:

The Walch Navy Model was a 12 shot revolver. .36 though. I don’t think he was that old school. The gun required ninja skills to operate properly.

  17. Ben Says:

“The U.S. Navy SEALs occasionally utilize the weapon…”

    Heh

  18. Chas Says:

All privately owned bullets are cop-killer bullets to the statist sychophants in that benighted country of Manhattanistan.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
