Is my dream car coming? Infiniti Trademarks G35h, G30t, and G22d

I don’t really care about a G hybrid or diesel. But turbo charge me a G37 and I’ll swing by the lot tomorrow to check it out.

Also, Subaru has a new sports coupe coming, the BRZ. It looks rather like the new Toyota.

The BRZ was a joint venture w. Toyota: http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2013-subaru-brz-sports-car-prototype-drive

Nice looking car. But underpowered. I suspect they will add a turbo in the future.

I’ve driven the G35 and the Nissan 350Z and I think that the Z is much more fun. The G35 is like the “mature” sports car, while the Z is like the wild 18 year old cheerleader you always wanted to bang.

Well, if I could get two kids and some groceries into a Z, maybe. But I can’t.

No, a “sports coup” would be Magic moving the Dodgers to Brooklyn.

    lol

Tested a G35 once. The dealer couldn’t locate one with a manual transmission, so no thanks. Automatics need not apply.

  7. SayUncle Says:

    They make them in manual.

  8. Bram Says:

Yes they do, supposedly. But no dealership within 100 miles had one. Went through the same experience with Saab, ended up with a BMW. For a decade I drove a Maxima with a manual, now no choice.

Wouldn’t a G30t have a 3.0 liter engine, not the 3.7 liter that you are used to? It wouldn’t matter as long as the BHP is there, but will it?

    So, what’s stopping you?

Get a G37 – ideally lightly used – and slap a turbo in.

    The warranty 🙂

So Subaru will build a car that looks like the old Toyota Supra but with less horsepower? Hmmmmm….

And a G37T would be awesome, but a 3.0T is a step back unless its got 450 horsepower, (Unlikely). The immediacy of a normally aspirated 325 horsepower can only be offset by at least 1/3 more horsepower with a turbo. New generation turbos are better than they used to be, but still aren’t quite there.

If the Subaru BRZ is lightweight, then 200hp will be plenty of power.

I currently drive an 03 impreza WRX that is turbocharged and only a few HP more, which is plenty for this car (well you always want a little more…) If the RWD BRZ is a good amount lighter than the AWD impreza, it will rocket even more.

    I can’t wait.

Speaking of warranties, boost, and the VQ35, Stillen has a supercharger for the 2003-2006 350Z/G35 with a warranty attached (3-year/36,000 mile).

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
