Loophole: there’s not a law against something I disapprove of

Over at pmsnbc, they are shocked that lawful and unlawful commerce originates on the internet.

Look for a push banning online listings of guns for sale.

Update: The Today Show .

  1. Rustmeister Says:

It was full of the usual: “police grade” pistols, “.50 caliber anti-helicopter guns” (ok, that wasn’t what he actually said, but the gist is there), their “expert” was a former ATF supervisor, the Bloomberg sting from a few years ago and the Schumer bill was also mentioned.

Oh, and the NRA was blamed. They didn’t miss much.

Jeff Rossen might get me blogging again….

  2. Jerry Says:

They just made me want an AR and I don’t know why.

  3. CapitalistPig Says:

I wonder how much that piece of propaganda cost Bloomberg.

“As for the eight guns we bought, we turned them over the the Phoenix police department… where they will be destroyed.”

Not true! AZ law requires PHX PD to sell or auction those guns. They’ll probably be sold via one of our local online auction houses.

  4. Bobby Says:

Capitalist, your post needs a “neener neener neener” at the end 😀

  5. CapitalistPig Says:

I should be more precise, AZ cities can’t prohibit the sale of seized weapons, and in some cases, sale of the weapon is mandatory.

Bobby, I’ll save the neeners for when I score a deal on a “helicopter-tracking” .50 or a “police-grade” Glock 23 from that online auction house.

  6. ATLien Says:

That kind of dishonesty should get a reporter’s ass kicked.

  7. Moriarty Says:

    (laughs)

After all this time, Today still hasn’t heard about The Silk Road? (Which, I’m given to understand, is now selling illegal guns along with drugs.)

With home CNC and 3D printing, the whole issue is going to be moot by next Thursday afternoon. If Bloomberg and Today are apoplectic now, wait until high-quality, homemade pistols start littering crimes scenes because they’re disposable.

    These people are utterly clueless.

  8. Kristopher Says:

    More of the anti bilge.

This is just the new propaganda du jure. They will try something else tomorrow if they can’t make this stick to the wall.

The only cure is to move their goalposts.

I think a state mandatory carry law, or an amendment requiring militia membership to vote might give them something different to whine about.

    Offense, not defense.

  9. Shootin' Buddy Says:

So, people in New York used people in Arizona to buy guns in Arizona?

  10. Robert Says:

Rustmeister – you forgot the massive damage dealing armour peircing hollow point bullets…

  11. Kristopher Says:

Yep Shootin’ Buddy … they committed a lawful act.

    Shocking.

  12. Suki Says:

A video fisking of this stupid report is on YouTube. Better download it before the freedom haters get it deleted!

  13. Jerry Says:

Hmmm. Unc, of what do you disapprove? The list of for sale arms in the classifieds? _rai_slist? I am unclear.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
