Chain gang

FBI goes on drug/gun raid. Unable to distinguish the letter R from the letter F, they raid the wrong house. The house of a mom and her 3 year old daughter. The agents used a chainsaw to open the door. Is that common practice? Using a chainsaw seems to me to be unnecessarily dangerous and doesn’t lend itself to stealth. Also, if I were sitting around my house and I saw and heard a chainsaw coming through the door, my first thought will not be it’s the police and I should cooperate. At that point, I’m quite likely unloading the nearest gun through the door.

if it’s more militarization, it could be one of those gas powered rotary saws of doom the .mil uses for breaching.

Not stealth at all, but effective and safer than explosives.

Not saying it’s warranted, and certainly not justifying hitting the wrong apartment

And thankfully they didn’t shoot her vicious pitbull attack dog… err puppy.

So does the FBI wear Hockey Masks in Rare Dark Earth while they’re running their Splatter Flick Raids?

my first thought was like yours… probably a shotgun though as i would not know what was going on and figured it was some incredibly crazy home invasion (and with criminals now even dressing as police during crimes – who would think different?)

which means if that was my residence my wife would be either attending my funeral or i’d be locked up for the rest of my life for shooting at the swat team (although like you – i would never have suspected those types of actions would be from law enforcement)

it just seems no matter what we can’t win.

A breaching 12 with compressed metal breaching rounds is a much better choice…as is checking the address before iniating an entry.

Yeah, at that point I assume its someones horror movie. The door is soon to be swiss cheese.

    Rare Dark Earth

I LOL’ed…is “Rare Foliage Green” up for grabs too?

  7. Ted N Says:

Wow, just… Hope the team leader is fired, but I’m sure they’ll promote him instead.

If you had the right attorney, and if they had the wrong warrant (not for your house), there’s a chance you would get off scott free. I know as a juror, I would be asking why anyone who had survived your shotgun blast was not charged with B&E, and whatever misconduct charges I could for doing it in uniform. Uniform, no uniform, without a warrant, they’re no better than the “bad guy” they were looking for.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
