    Ballsy. Oblivious. Poh-tay-toe. Poh-tah-toe.

  2. Mike V. Says:

Doesn’t any firearm, once its used in a crime, become an “illegal” gun? And if he was really serious, DOJ would prosecute more “felon in possession of a firearm” cases but they don’t.

  3. Lyle Says:

An illegal gun never killed anyone. It needs an operator to do that, see.

This is all quite beside the point of course, the point being liberty verses something other than liberty..

  4. Michael Silence Says:

As I’ve been known to say: “Ouch!”

  5. Stranger Says:

The Officer Down Memorial Site has the up to the minute totals, as well as causes.

For 2011, 63 deaths by gunfire, 4 by gun accident, 67 total.

For 2010, 59 plus 2 accidents, 61 total. So there have been four more officers shot to death in the line of duty in 2011 than in 2010. A 6.3% increase.

An increase that is well within the normal statistical variation. Unless this trend continues for at least 36 months, it is “statistical noise,” and means exactly nothing.

Except Eric Holder is grasping at straws.

I thought Fast and Furious was a made-up conspiracy for a long time. Walking guns to Mexican gangs seemed so unlikely. Now I’m worried that this press announcement means ATF has been walking guns to US gangs, and Holder is trying to get ahead of the news cycle.

  7. Gerry Says:

More of a hack than Ed Meese or John Mitchell.
A stranger view of the law than Ramsey Clark.
Killed more people than Janet Reno.
Eric Holder, you have lowered the bar to a depth thought to be unreachable.

“Now I’m worried that this press announcement means ATF has been walking guns to US gangs, and Holder is trying to get ahead of the news cycle.”

Didn’t someone uncover them doing just that in Indiana?

    Ah, yes:

Note that the ATF and FBI forced an FFL to sell guns that they suspected would end up in the gun-free paradise of Chicago.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
