Oh, look we are becoming England. Only there, the Bobbies will enter your home through an unlocked door or window to advise you about burglars. Didn’t we kind of separate ourself from Britain way back in the past?
“The Denver police officer who left the cruiser running unattended in front of her home Monday morning is now the subject of an internal investigation. Ironically, it was stolen the same day that Denver police held a news conference to warn motorists about leaving their cars running and unattended.”
Many departments have policies requiring that vehicles be left running. The fire dept that I worked out required all vehicles be left running when they were out of the station.

Lights on, car running, but no crooks present.
Sooner or later his car will be jacked that way.

I’ve left mine running with the doors locked. Does that count?
What about leaving guns in a car where they could be stolen while in, for example a post office or a school?
Is any of this properly any of the government’s business whatsoever?
I am a horrible homophobe, and every time I read about a law like this one, I think of Willem Dafoe’s line in Boondock Saints, “What a fag”.
