   I have to wonder if after the first season if there was one writer that tried to keep the logic in the show that had just up and quit: “F you guys. There are no missed shots. No one acts reasonably. Only the deputies can have guns. There are free vehicles everywhere, yet you keep the broken one. Sound attracts the Zed, so drive a loud motorcycle. Make this a damn soap opera. F you guys, I’m outta here.”

   The long quiet times and the bromance between the deputies makes this “Days of our Deaths”.

   Would “The Dead and the Restless” have been slightly funnier?

   Yeah, I’ve got the first year of the comic. It’s really good. The first episode or two of the TV show is taken straight from it, but once they get Rick out of the tank the show takes a sharp left turn. There aren’t any abusive husbands or racist rednecks in the comic. The first six comics are all personal drama with the Rick and Shane love triangle for Lori.

   Death Valley is great.

   I’ve been enjoying the commentary/criticism of The Walking Dead as much as the show itself. At this point, if they fixed the shows flaws, I might find it less entertaining.

   There was a pretty big shakeup in the staff during the filming of the 2nd season. The cast was at dragoncon and specifically couldn’t talk about it. Rumor was the director was putting out unusable footage, so they fired him. Apparently, it had an effect on the final product.

   I’ll wait until it hits Netflix and use my Roku box. First Season’s on it already, and since there ain’t much to do up here in February…..

   Frank Darabont (Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile) directed the first season but was fired due to a ‘strained relationship with AMC executives.’ Their loss. The second season’s formula seems to be 55 minutes of boring and 5 minutes of ‘ok, I’ll give you one more chance’

   I’m willing to give it another chance this season. Of course, I firmly believe if you crossed Red Dawn with Zombieland you’d have the ultimate movie.
