Birdshot. Why people have to shoot anything but that into the air is beyond me. My family used to shoot birdshot into the air on the 4th of July or on New Years, but it’s made for that purpose and is harmless.
I think making a new law is stupid though.

God damn it, indeed. It is a shame the whole crew can’t be convicted. And I concur they don’t need a new law, they have a perfectly acceptable law that is already being used: manslaughter (in the highest degree, as some would say…)

They make 12ga flare shells. If you absolutely have to fire a gun in the air, shoot something that’s designed to be fired into the air and not destroy something when it lands.
I’d invest in a 2 bore if I could get Chrysanthemum shells for it.

bird shot and flares without legitimate purpose when you cannot see where they will land or on what they may impact is just lower grade stupidity than the idiots shooting into the lake.
if you have to celebrate with a firearm, how about shooting blanks?
