One of the ranges on 29 Palms Marine Corps base is a (dry) lake bed named “Emerson Lake”.

As we were running patrols through and around there all of our sitreps would end with “…still no sign of Palmer.”

Our ROC thought it was funny and it took the zeros in the TOC a bit to figure it out and tell us to knock it off.

Good pun, but MTV sux. It has not been MUSIC TV for more years than I care to wish. For the same reason that “i’m from ‘d gubment, here to help” is a bad sign. And yes, MTV sux donky.
