bizarre Internet-fueled rumors

There were rumors that the border agent that was killed had a bean bag gun. The government denied those rumors. Except that they’re true. Also, who really thought it was a good idea to send someone to the violent sections of the border armed with a glorified paintball gun?

Okay, I can actually understand having the beanbag gun. We want to deport the illegals, not kill them, if at all possible. I’d think that this fills the same niche as a taser, just at longer ranges.

That said, every LEO I’ve ever seen equipped with a taser has it in a cross-draw position and his pistol by his dominant hand. You use the non-lethal if you get a chance, but you back up your commands with the threat of deadly force.

Were the agents trying to do the equivalent of firing in the air (or across their bow)? Again, if you’re going to have an agent with a beanbag shotgun you need to have several others with ARs and real shotguns.

At least he had something. In answer to your question, the Obama administration is sending agents across the border with naught but a happy thought.

Wolfwood: Weapons fail was caused by another ridiculous rules of engagement policy created by the current administration.

If the border patrol shoots a Mexican with an actual firearm, they will be hung out to dry by our own government, regardless of why they shot them.

Wolfwood: Negative, Ghostrider, this should be in the hands of the military, not a dot.gov LE agency. This is not about writing tickets or booking people, this is about keeping ARMED INTRUDERS out of our country.

In 1915, this Nation detailed Gen. “Blackjack” Pershing to cross into Mexico and deter (with extreme prejudice) the bandit/revolutionary Pancho Villa from raiding border communities on our side of the border.

Truth be told, Pancho Villa was a creampuff peacenik stacked up next to the present cartel gunsels. We need the military to have this job again, period.

If the GOP was smart (no hope here, they’re not for nothing known as the Stupid Party), they would run someone against Nobama who would promise that our military would seal the border, effective on the day he/she was inaugurated. The resulting landslide against Nobama would prove forever the folly of liberal thinking (both parties’ liberals!) on the subject of border security.

Markie Marxist sez: “Of course he only had a bean bag gun! It doesn’t do us any good if the illegals arrive dead. It’s harder for them to vote for Democrats that way.”

Markie Marxist sez: “Our US government (we Marxists own it now) gives our Marxist/warrior/hero/Mexican illegals AK’s, while it gives our Border Patrol Agents bean bag guns. That works well for our political agenda of getting as many illegals as possible into the US. If it was the other way around, our illegals might feel discouraged, so we make sure that everybody has the appropriate weapons. Bean bags for the Border Patrol, and bullets for our illegals. It’s just common communist sense to do it that way, after all, we have a political agenda to implement.”
