One Response to “The election and the second amendment”

  1. Ron W Says:

According to the 9th and 10th Amendments of the U.S. Constitution, the States and, ultimately the People, retain the power over additional and expanded rights , Therefore, Gov-elect Haslam and legislators other State officials must obey the wording of Article I, Section 26 of the State Constitution. There it is DECLARED that the citizens of this State have a RIGHT to keep AND CARRY (“bear” means carry) arms for self-defense. The Legislature is only delegated power re: “the wearing of arms with a view to prevent crime”, that is, how we carry, holstered, open, concealed, etc. Requiring permission, as with a permit, is NOT a delegated power to the State and is therefore UNLAWFUL.

Gov Haslam was Constitutionally correct to promise that he would sign a no permit gun carry bill which would be directly pursuant to the wording of Article I, Section 26 of the Tennessee Declaration of Rights.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
