Wow, did you read the comments at the Accurate Shooter link about Trijicon? What is it about “Jesus” on the internet that brings out the whackos?
In-N-out burger puts scripture references on their cups and burger wrappers, and yet no one is crying about that.

Good for Trijicon. I had no idea that they were doing this. And for those that have diaper rash over the issue, don’t buy their stuff.

This is about as unobtrusive as “preaching” can get. Heck, even if you stumble across it by accident you don’t have to find out what it says: if you can recognize that it’s a Bible verse location then you probably have already figured out whether you’re interested or not in knowing it.
I do wonder if there’s one out there with “GAL5:11” though.

MAT10:34 is a thought, as is LUK22:36. Time was, everyone knew the gist of scripture well enough to use the references to make the odd quip. Though we may not approve, in these late enlightened times, of how that scholarship was acquired, it was at least a form of literacy. So I miss it.
The Song of Songs 5:4. And, for the EBR, 1:5. Oh, yeah. I might be going to visit my engraver.

I think it’s hilarious. All the references are to passages regarding Light in the Darkness, and considering Trijicon’s ACOG is tritium & fiber optic lit (no batteries required) having “Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” referenced on it shows a pretty good sense of humor, if nothing else.
But judging by the comments on Accurate Shooter, I must be the only one who finds humor in it.

On another note… thanks for the link to the Diamondback 380 review. I saw one in a shop the other day and was intrigued. Looks like I may be doing some extra paperwork when I go pick up my M&P15-22 later this week.

Huh. So that explains why they are so expensive… blessed by the Pope, optional reliquary add-ons, holy-water-cleansed lenses…
Also explains why their little glow-in-the-dark stuff works so well – blood of the virgins and all that. Oh. Wait. Wrong religion… 😉

If they were doing that just on items manufactured for the military or .gov, I could see a basis for people getting upset (I might not agree, but I could at least see where they’re coming from).
In this case, though, it looks like it’s something they do routinely, on all or most of their products. If that’s their normal practice, then it’s their choice and perfectly all right. Anyone who doesn’t like it doesn’t have to buy their products.
Besides, like Rex said, the Light in Darkness references combined with the nature of their products makes a pretty good little joke, too.
