The new Harold Ford, Jr.

Gun hating and gay marriage loving. Proof he’ll say anything to get elected. Even when he’s *wink* not running.

Update: Remember that time he addressed the NRA convention? Proud NRA member, indeed.

When he ran for the Senate in Tennessee, I heard Ford locally on WTN 99.7 FM say that “I was wrong on guns” repudicatiing his mostly anti-gun rights record. Now I suppose he’s gonna say, “I was wrong on guns”….again.

All political positions are subject to negotiation. Politicians go where the money and votes are. If that’s in being pro-gun, they will tend to go there, if they are in being anti-gun, they will go there as well. There are very few true believers out there.

What a lot of gun folks don’t understand is that politics is an influence game, not a matter of finding someone who believes as you do. That whyIf you’re building influence the right way, you’ll keep your critter on board. If you make the mistake of believing you have a “true believer,” because you found the “right guy” or he answered all your questions perfectly, you’re going to get squashed most of the time, because that politician is probably telling you what he thinks you want to hear. There’s no principle, only influence, and in New York City the anti-gun message has a lot more than we do.

A punk is a punk is a punk no matter where he is. If he kisses your dick today, he will kiss someone else’s tomorrow when it is advantageous to him. To keep people like that on your reservation is stupid. Influence in that milieu is illusory.

If your life hasn’t perceptibly improved due to restoration of rights or recession of gov’t interference in your life or due to the actions of your elected officials, make damn sure they don’t serve a second term. They haven’t earned it, don’t re-elect them.

The above applies to what they do, not improvement in your life due to your own efforts. You don’t need or deserve any help from anyone to improve your life by your own efforts. If, however, you have elected someone who has made it more difficult for you to benefit from your own efforts or who has done nothing at all. Kick his ass to the curb.

For the above to have any beneficial effects would take at least three election cycles. The character of the egocentric assholes who wish to govern will not have improved, but their awareness of the fragility of their position will much improve their responsiveness to their constituents.

THE PROBLEM: We don’t have enough people smart enough to take this last peaceful chance to avoid armed rebellion.

He was a Rising Star in the Democrat Party until he got out-negroed by an Illinois Senator…

I had forgotten he was black. I just disrespected him because he was and is dishonorable.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
