I’ve got a Montgomery Wards shotgun. It’s a Mossberg 550 made under the Monkey Wards brand.

  2. Chris Byrne Says:

Yeah, I’ve wanted one of those McCans for a while, but .458 is a bit excessive.

I’d like mine in .300 winmag instead, but they stopped making that one. Now they just do the .338 and the .458.

Oh and they do nice knives too.

  3. PeterT Says:

Eh, I don’t think Sears manufactured anything… but they sure sold a lot of stuff under their brand name….

Unc, Sears didn’t make that rifle, they re-branded a Hi-Standard as their own. It was pretty common in the 50s and 60s, with Mossberg, Hi-Standard, and Stevens being the “usual suspects” for the donor rifles.

    Thanks for the link BTW!

Yup. Sears was my father’s gun shop for a while when I was young. Did not carry pistol stuff, though.

Hell, what am I talking about? Abercrombie and Fitch, in downtown Chicago, was carrying elephant guns and Loveless knives, when I was old enough to buy them.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
