Torn on Zorn

I’m told by a few that I may be misreading Zorn’s piece that I criticize here. Seems that he has been fairly critical of gun control in the past.

I can see that. So noted.

I read some of his other stuff, but in the end, it seemed to me to be a case of “I’m a gun owner, but….” done better.

He’s pretty critical of “gun control” proponents in that article and also in the comments – he pretty much calls ’em out on their vague and meaningless justifications for gun control. The real question is whether he’s doing it to maintain his ostensibly pro-control “creds” of if he is really changing his mind.

Why do you assume his mind needs changing? He’s been highly critical of gun control since at least 1993, probably longer than that (I moved to Chicago in 1993, and had never heard of the guy before that).
