More Heller stuff

David Hardy: In short, when it really comes down to the wire, the Administration turns its back on the Platform with which it won election.

Well, it’s a trend with this administration.

Funny, I seem to remember his promise to renew the AWB as part of his platform. You know, that one that got him elected.

Oh, wait, sorry, I mean that one that he got elected in spite of.

Bush never ran as a true conservative. He ran as a “compassionate” conservative. IOW as a conservative democrat.

IIRC, the AWB was not part of his platform. it was, however, something he said in a debate with kerry.

  3. wizardpc Says:

he said he would sign a renewal if it came to his desk, but everyone doubted it would make it that far, so it was a safe position to take. Still should’ve been a sign.

    Unc,

That may be. But it still speaks in favor of Bush doing what he said he would do.

Which is not at all to say that I like what he’s said he’s going to do. Just that you can’t be surprised that he’s a “reasonable restrictions” kinda guy, he’s been telling us that for years.

Well, what he actually is, is the unprincipled son of an unprincipled father, both of whom will say or do whatever is necessary to screw themselves into profit.

Reasonable restrictions to either of these less than honorable or manly males means anything that causes them any kind of inconvenience, or moral commitment.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
