Disappointing Artwork

Ya know, Tennessee’s unconstitutional drug tax stamp is not as cool looking as Texas’ unconstitutional drug tax stamp.

Update: B-Ho notes:

The Bredesen admininstration appears intent on continuing to collect the tax, despite two court rulings that it is unconstitutional, as a Department of Revenue spokesman says the department will continue to collect the tax while pursuing further legal appeals.

One nitpick is I think it’s been ruled that three times now. The more important issue is that the state is disregarding a ruling. If they can’t respect the law, why should Tennesseans?

WTF is an “unconstitutional drug tax stamp?” Alcohol is the only drug that has ever been unconstitutional, and that example’s a bit dated.

  2. SayUncle Says:

Well, I’m using the word unconstitutional to modify the entire phrase drug tax stamp since our drug tax stamp has been ruled unconstitutional like three times.

  3. Xrlq Says:

Unconstitutional and ruled unconstitutional are two different things, especially when the ruling is still under appeal. And what is your basis for calling Texas’s law unconstitutional? Are Texas laws subject to the Tennessee constitution?

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
