And all I got was this lousy fatwah

A while back, Chris and some friends decided to shoot up a few Korans. He says he lost his job for it. And now he states that he has been contacted by the Feds because some radical European based Palestinian group has issued a Fatwah against him.

Though shooting up Korans was kind of a dickish thing to do, it doesn’t justify threatening the man and his family. Reasonable people may get offended by Chris’ insult but they don’t call for his life. Just proves how unreasonable terror groups are, I suppose.

That sucks. I wish him well – and for what its worth – he’s wrong about suing his former employer. They can terminate him for any reason, as long as its legitimate. Based upon what he says about referral logs and the religious beliefs of the CIO and Exec VP there, he ought to sue that company ASAP.

    I’m just saying, thats all.

    You should tell him that.

I think it says more about how unreasonable religious zealots are. I’m sure someone who shot up a Bible would be facing similar hassles, and not just from Christian terror groups like the Ku Klux Klan.

Personally I think they should have shot up a few bibles as well. That way it wouldn’t be so easy to accuse them of being bigoted.

Remember that piece of alleged art called “Piss Christ”? Which was funded with American tax money? Christians did not respond to this and other desecrations of their symbols by threatening to kill the alleged artists, they just got the Congressmen to put some limits on what “art” can get federally funded.

About those limits, I’m an atheist, and the only problem I see with them is that they still let some of my tax money go to “artists” whose work resembles that of naughty kindergartners…

If this guy were my employee, I’d fire him too. I wouldn’t want to work with somebody like him.

He went out of his way to portray himself as a bigot, a guy who gets off on doing violence to icons cherished by his coworkers. That’s hardly the way to make a good impression. He shouldn’t be surprised that when he acts like a jackass, people treat him like one.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
